I was thinking about Rachel Maddow's Friday broadcast, and the oddness of her mentioning the brand of jacket worn by the courier who carried the letter from Mueller to Congress:
"a justice department staffer or messenger of some kind, all we know – she was wearing a north face jacket, she brought, in fact, two letters to the committee in two separate manilla envelopes …"

Yes, Maddow was distraught and panicky and being random. But WHY the attention to the jacket? Why the "all we know" preface to discussing the jacket? (And why would her congressional sources have even bothered to mention the jacket to Maddow in the first place?)
At first I assumed it was some kind of insider interest in which specific courier made the trip (as if Maddow asked, who was it? and her source said I don't know, then described the courier's appearance.) But that wouldn't explain Maddow going on-air with this particular detail.
Then I thought it sounded like code, but I couldn't figure out what it might mean. If it were some kind of code from Maddow, she wouldn't have free choice to say anything there, because if the courier wasn't wearing that specific brand of jacket, it would sound too weird to anyone physically present.
But what if it was code from the courier? Where Maddow's sources relayed that specific information ("she was wearing a north face jacket") and the Maddow relayed it to the world in her broadcast?
Officially all that was public that evening was that a letter had been delivered reporting the end of the Mueller investigation. Of course there was a lot of interest in exactly what it said, and with that insider information, what course of action cabal members should be follow (for example, should everyone get on cabal pre arranged plan 1, 2, or 3.)
So I wonder if the courier was quietly getting a simple message like that out, through her choice of jacket. And then Maddow's choice of "all we know is (short coded message from insider)" would make perfect sense.
