Former FBI Director James Comey said in an interview Wednesday that President Trump may have obstructed justice in his decision to fire him.

 

Comey’s remarks came via a clip from his NBC Nightly News interview, during which Lester Holt brought the conversation back to early May 2017, when Comey testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

 

During that hearing, Comey spoke on a variety of topics, including the Clinton email investigation.

“But you declined to answer questions specifically about evidence of collusion at that point. A couple days later, you’re fired,” Holt said.

 

“A few days after that, I sit down with President Trump,” he continued. “He says, ‘when I decided to just do it,’ talking about firing you, ‘I said to myself, I said you know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made up story.’ What did you think when you heard that?”

 

Comey replied: “I thought that’s potentially obstruction of justice and I hope somebody is going to look at that.”

 

The ousted official went on to say that he didn't know what was in Trump's head at the time.

 

But what the president “appears to be saying is, ‘I got rid of this guy to shut down an investigation that threatened me,’” Comey said.

 

Trump fired Comey on May 9, 2017, telling him in a brief letter that he could not “effectively lead” the bureau.

Sen. Rand Paul has called for an investigation into former CIA Director John Brennan.

 

“BREAKING: A high-level source tells me it was Brennan who insisted that the unverified and fake Steele dossier be included in the Intelligence Report… Brennan should be asked to testify under oath in Congress ASAP,” Paul tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

 

Former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele penned the dossier after he was hired by Fusion GPS, a research firm retained by Hillary Clinton’s lawyers at Perkins Coie during the 2016 Presidential campaign.

 

It was the dossier that sparked the allegations against President Donald Trump that he colluded with Russia to win the election.

 

“I think we need to find the truth,” Paul told Washington Secrets on Wednesday. He said that baseless investigations like the Trump-Russia probe should be prevented in future administrations, regardless of political affiliation.

 

Brennan reportedly “endorsed” the dossier after reviewing a copy in December 2016 and believed it matched up with information from his sources, according to a Bob Woodward book, “Fear,” which the Washington Times had reported last year.

 

“The sources that Steele used for his dossier had not been polygraphed, which made their information uncorroborated, and potentially suspect,” Woodward wrote. “But Brennan said the information was in line with their own sources, in which he had great confidence.”

 

His spokesman, however, claims Brennan never endorsed it and tried to prevent it from being included in the Trump-Russia probe.

 

After Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded the nearly two-year Trump-Russia investigation and found no evidence of wrongdoing, Brennan said he may have received “bad information” that prompted his repeated collusion accusations against Trump.

 

“I don’t know if I received bad information, but I think I suspected there was more than there actually was,” Brennan said on Monday during an appearance on Morning Joe.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of the criminal charges against Smollett, two law enforcement sources briefed on the matter told ABC News on Wednesday. The sources insisted it is not an investigation, but a "review."

Well, normally that's our preference but I think this one was cooked up over there in the DEVGRU HQ over at the Seal Team Six base at the Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach. Normally our QAnon operations don't need helicopters or involve breaching doors and stuffs.

42-Year-Old Man Arrested in West Virginia for Threats to Assassinate President Trump and Blow Up Pentagon – K9 Units Called In

 

A 42-year-old man was arrested in West Virginia on Wednesday going 130 mph on Interstate 68.

 

K9 units were alerted and detected the presence of explosive material in the car.

 

The man’s car was confiscated on the highway.

 

The man was making threats to assassinate Trump and blow up the Pentagon.

 

WAJR reported:

 

A 42-year-old man is in custody following the lengthy shutdown of Interstate 68, a West Virginia State Police spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.

 

“As a result of the investigation based on a traffic stop that occurred earlier [Wednesday] morning, it had been discovered that threats were made to kill the President of the United States and to blow up the Pentagon. A search of the vehicle revealed a firearm and an explosive powder. A 42-year-old male has been detained for questioning. WVSP, in conjunction with the FBI and Secret Service, are continuing to investigate. The interstate has been reopened,” according to a press release from a WVSP Spokesperson Capt. Shallon Oglesby.

 

Authorities did not release the name of the man in custody by Wednesday evening.

 

The suspect’s gray sedan, with Missouri license plates, passed Trooper First Class D.W. Satterfield, of the Bridgeport Detachment, going about 130 mph, according to the WVSP. The two were in the westbound lane and Satterfield stopped the car.

 

According to a release, the driver seemed stressed and confused; he made concerning statements causing Satterfield to believe there was an explosive device in the car. The man was removed from his car without incident and detained.

 

Three explosive detection K-9s with WVU Police alerted to the presence of explosive material in the car, the release said. Members of the WVSP Explosives Response Team searched the vehicle and did not find an explosive device. The car was towed away about 2:30 p.m. and the interstate was reopened.
