Presumably it’s a reference to the team on offensive. To me it’s a great analogy for the concept in chess of black, who moves second, defending white’s ‘initiative’ of having the first move in the game, and now, having withstood the blistering attack by white, black now holds the initiative! The hunted become the hunters! Game on!
