Looking back, Putin was outsmarting Hussein at every turn in foreign policy. Probably a good thing. That outsmarting may have been due to Hillary being SecState and having a private server.
Not sure but it kind of seems that the "successful" FFs in Syria (that the Russians could not "foresee") began after Hillary stepped down as SecState to campaign for Presidency. ie the Russians lost access to Hillary's server.
