Cristiano Oliveira is being held in jail on charges that the Gracie Barra jiu-jitsu instructor raped a child.

Cristiano Oliveira is head instructor at Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Of Yakima. The website for the gym states that Oliveira is also a 2009 Pan-American first place champion.
He is also currently sitting in a jail cell, facing charges of rape of a child, child molestation and sexual misconduct with a minor. A screenshot of the charges and inmate information is provided above, but can also be located at the Yakima County website.
Gracie Mag ran a profile on Oliveira in 2010, featuring a story about how he gave up music to pursue jiu-jitsu, which taught him to "think before he acts."
His Facebook page is filled with pictures of him with children and the Gracie Barra Northwest Kids Team lists him as not only "head instructor" at the Yakima school, but also "head youth instructor." Also, a 2012 story about Yakima police starting a jiu-jitsu program providing free lessons to kids was born out of a partnership between the police and Oliveira. All making for very scary scenarios with Oliveira's access to kids if the charges prove to be true.

This is the second awful story in recent weeks for Gracie Barra as Daryell Dickson Meneses Xavier–an instructor and competitor for the Gracie Barra team–is currently facing charges in Brazil of abusing, killing and possibly molesting his one year old stepson.
