I disagree. All major religions have kernels of truth. The ancient Babylonians had something and Egypt was Christian before Christ.
Look into the Essenes, Coptic Christians and mystery schools.
Don't buy into mystery schools, it's all good.
Man is here for Nature's purposes. But, his service in that regard allows him certain possibilities which only a small number may exploit at any given time in order for Nature to continue having It's needs met on It's path of Conscious evolution.
In order to exploit those possibilities a second education is required which can only be effectively given by initiation through oral tradition passed down from time immemorial by men who know.
There is really only self initiation, but certain kinds of help are required for most who seek such a path of evolution.
That help appears from time to time throughout history and is embodied not only in the Gospels, but in mystery or esoteric schools (which continue to this day), and objective art, architecture and music, etc. In fact, the musical scale is a method of preserving knowledge of the law of the unfolding of manifestation. Is that evil also?
