May told to quit & call election as EU warns of NO DEAL DISASTER after latest Brexit failure

Theresa May’s failure to get her EU withdrawal bill through parliament for a third time led to immediate demands for the prime minister’s resignation, a snap general election, and warnings from the EU about a no-deal Brexit.

May said the consequences of the rejection for Brexit were “grave,” not least for her future as prime minister. After she saw her deal rejected again, this time by 58 votes, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said that if she was unwilling to change the deal which she has continuously failed to get through parliament, then she should quit immediately and call a general election to let the country decide.

The Scottish National Party’s parliamentary leader Ian Blackford also responded to May’s failure with an immediate call for an election.

Members of May’s own party are also calling for her head, with the deputy chair of the hardline Tory European Research Group saying she needs to leave Downing Street as soon as possible.

New Zealand removes any reference to Jesus from parliamentary prayer

In the wake of the Christchurch mosque attack, we come to find out that New Zealand has removed references to Jesus from the parliamentary prayer, sparking outrage among the country’s Christian population.

Speaker of the House, Trevor Mallard, made the decision to drop references to Jesus in order to make the prayer “more inclusive” for all parliamentarians.

The Guardian reported: A reference to “almighty god” remains, but it is not a specific reference to a Christian god.

The protesters want Jesus’s name reinstated, and held signs reading “Dishonourable Judas Mallard”.

Around 1,000 people protested on the steps of parliament house in Wellington, arguing that New Zealand was a Christian nation and Mallard had no authority to axe Jesus’s name.

“He needs a good kick in his pants, and he needs to actually be removed because this is a Christian nation”, protester Rieki Teutscher told Radio NZ. “We don’t share his atheism.”

Another protester, Carmel Morgan, said Mallard should have consulted with New Zealanders or announced a referendum before changing the prayer.

“This is a land of democracy, this is a land of freedom, you know, we want to be a first world country… he took that choice away from us.”

Politicians such as Jacinda Ardern and Winston Peters have said it would have been judicious for the speaker to have consulted more widely before actioning the changes.

“Well the decision as to what should be changed should be made by parliamentarians and not the speaker – that’s our position, I don’t mind telling you publicly”, deputy prime minister Winston Peters told RNZ.

“If you’re going to make a change let’s have parliament decide – not one person.”

Mallard said he had consulted with parliamentarians and the majority had indicated they were in favour of a secular prayer.

Abandoning its traditional Christian faith was, no doubt, a significant contributing factor to the mosque shooting in the first place.

As former Christian churches are turned into mosques, New Zealanders are told to accept the Islamification with smiling tolerance.

Just don’t make the Muslims mad. New Muslim migrants have the “right” to not be offended by references to Christ even when they are in Christian countries.

If a Muslim hears a reference to Jesus in a public prayer, it might trigger an extreme response, so it’s best to delete Jesus from the domestic culture so we can all “get along”.

When the Prime Minister of New Zealand dons a hijab in public, all of White New Zealand is being betrayed to the gods of diversity, but Christianity will not be part of the equation.

Chicago Mayor Pins Blame For Smollett Race Hate 'Hoax' On Toxic Culture Created By…Trump?

Rahm Emanuel, the mayor of Chicago, uttered a famous phrase while he was former president Barck Obama's White House chief of staff. "Never let a tragedy go to waste," he said, which was quickly embraced by Democrats and has become a sort of motto for the party.

Now, Emanuel is back in the news, supposedly furious about what actor Jussie Smollett perpetrated in his city. Smollett, an actor, claimed he was attacked by two white men who yelled "This is MAGA country," a reference to President Trump's campaign slogan, "Make Amerca Great Again."

The allegations, though, imploded. Eventually, Smollett was indicted by a grandy jury on 16 charges, including making false statements to police. All that was wiped away this week by a Chicago prosecutor, who suddenly announced she was dropping all charges and sealing the case.

In the end, there's clearly just one person to blame for the whole debacle. No, not the man who allegedly made up the whole story – but the president of the United States!

"Let me be clear about something. The only reason Jussie Smollett thought he could take advantage of a hoax about a hate crime is because of the environment, the toxic environment that Donald Trump created," Emanuel told a group of reporters on Thursday.

"This is a president who drew a moral equivalency between people who are trying to perpetuate bigotry and those who are trying to fight bigotry."

Emanuel told Trump to stay out of Chicago's affairs. "My recommendation is the president go to Opening Day baseball, sit on the sidelines and stay out of this," he said.

Trump on Thursday said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice will both investigate the "outrageous" decision by Chicago prosecutors to drop all charges in the Jussie Smollett "hate hoax" case.

Houthis Kill Or Injure 250 Saudi-Backed Fighters, Capture 100 Positions In Large-Scale Attack In Dhale (Video)

The Houthis captured 100 positions in the central Yemeni province of Dhale from the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies during a recent large-scale operation, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman of the pro-Houthis wing of the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced in the late hours of March 28.

“Our forces succeed in a special military operation on the front of Dhale … As a result, more than 100 military positions were secured, more than 250 enemy personnel were injured and killed, while dozens others surrendered themselves,” Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari said.

The Nasah mount was among the positions, which were captured by the Houthis in the course of the attack that lasted for five days

The Houthis media wing released a short video of the attack showing two T-55 main battle tanks of Saudi-backed forces, which were destroyed by Houthi tank hunters. According to Brig. Gen. Yahya, the Yemeni group’s fighters destroyed dozens of other vehicles.

Dhale didn’t witness much battles in the last few years. The Houthis’ new attack there will increase the pressure on the Saudi-led coalition and may impact its operations in central Yemen.

Israeli TV Reports From Syrian Democratic Forces-held Territory For First Time Ever

For the first time ever, Israeli TV podcasted several reports, which were shot in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) territory in northeastern Syria. The reports, which were produced by Journalist Moav Vardi, where podcasted by the Channel 11 earlier this month.

In the reports, Vardi can be seen with SDF fighters in different areas of northeastern Syria and on the frontlines against ISIS in the Middle Euphrates River Valley. The Israeli journalist even interviewed the group’s General Commander Ferhat Abdi Sahin, who is known by his nom de guerre “Mazlum Kobane.”

Vardi’s reports led to an outrage among Syrians on different political sides, especially that they coincided with the U.S. recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan heights.

The U.S. step was condemned by both the Syrian government and opposition, but not by the SDF or its political wing, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC). Syrian Kurdish officials in northeastern Syria remained silent and didn’t comment on the matter.

The SDF is apparently approaching Israel and Israeli-linked organizations in an attempt to get a wider support from the U.S, which is fueling separatist intentions of the Kurdish-dominated administration in northeastern Syria.

Brooklyn lawmaker blasts Rep. Omar, says ‘Palestine does not exist’

A Brooklyn lawmaker set off a social media storm Wednesday by denying the existence of Palestine and accusing Rep. Ilhan Omar of being an anti-Semite.

“Palestine does not exist,” tweeted Councilman Kalman Yeger, who represents Midwood and other neighborhoods with large Jewish populations.

“There, I said it again. Also, Congresswoman Omar is an anti-Semite. Said that, too. Thanks for following me.”

The tweet was a direct response to a post by Zainab Iqbal, a writer for the blog Bklyner, who had posted a story she wrote in March 2018 citing Yeger’s previous anti-Palestine remarks.

The councilman’s comments drew 1,900 responses, — including from colleagues in the council.

“I denounce Council Member Yeger’s comments as they are unhelpful and unwelcome,” Speaker Corey Johnson tweeted.

“Comments like these do nothing to foster a peaceful solution, which is something we should all be working towards.”

“I love you, brother, but this isn’t helpful,” agreed Councilman Justin Brannan, who represents Bay Ridge and other sections of southern Brooklyn.

“As u know, I proudly represent one of the largest Palestinian communities in the country… Please don’t tell my constituents their homeland doesn’t exist.”

Omar, a Minnesota freshman, issued a public apology after causing a furor in February by saying the relationship between the US and Israel is “all about the Benjamins.”

U.S. charges Facebook with racial discrimination in targeted housing ads

The Trump administration accused Facebook Inc on Thursday of selling targeted advertising that discriminated on the basis of race, in violation of the U.S. Fair Housing Act.

Seeking damages and unspecified relief for harm caused, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said here in its civil charge that Facebook also restricted who could see housing-related ads based on national origin, religion, familial status, sex and disability.

Facebook said it had been working with the department to address the concerns and was surprised by the decision to issue the charge, having taken “significant steps” to prevent ads that discriminate across its platforms.

The company also said the government had “insisted on access to sensitive information - like user data - without adequate safeguards,” adding that it was willing to provide aggregate reports but not user-level personal information.

The Housing Department claims Facebook mines data about its users and then employs machine learning to predict their responses to ads in ways that may recreate groupings defined by characteristics such as race.

A spokesman for the department declined to comment on the details of the discussions.

The social media giant last week agreed to overhaul its paid advertising platform as part of a wide-ranging settlement with U.S. civil rights groups, which had filed five separate lawsuits accusing the company of enabling discrimination in advertising.

Under U.S. law, including the federal Fair Housing Act, it is illegal to publish certain types of ads - including online ads - if they indicate a preference based on race, religion, sex or other specified classifications.

As part of last week’s settlement, Facebook said it would create a new advertising portal for ads linked to housing and employment that would limit targeting options for advertisers. It also pledged to build a tool that would allow users to search all current housing ads listed in the United States, regardless of whether the ads were directed at them.

Syria Discovers US-Made TOW Anti-Tank Missiles in Terrorist Camps (PHOTOS)

Terrorists are abandoning their weapon caches as they retreat from advancing Syrian armed forces. Another caches was recently discovered by sweeping teams.

Syrian authorities have reportedly found US weapons and munitions, including TOW anti-tank missiles, while searching former terrorist positions in the country's southern region, the SANA news agency reported Thursday.

While the exact location of the discovery hasn't been disclosed, As-Suwaida province, where Syrian forces recently eliminated one of the few remaining Daesh strongholds, is a likely candidate.

TOW (tube-launched, optically-tracked, wire-guided) missiles are the main US anti-tank weaponry. The system consists of either a tripod or vehicle-mounted tube, which launches a wire-missile to a distance of more than 3 kilometers.

This is not the first time US-made weapons have been discovered in terrorist hideouts. In February, a stash of US and Israeli-made weapons was discovered near Damascus. Earlier in January, US and Israeli-made weapons were found at former terrorist positions in Dara'a province, PressTV reported. One month before that, American arms and Israeli medicine were discovered in Dara'a and Quneitra provinces.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blocked a resolution calling for special counsel Robert Mueller’s report to be made public, arguing that Congress should also call for the release of communications and testimony from Obama-era officials.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), who is one of several Democratic senators running for president, tried to get unanimous consent for the Senate to pass the resolution, which cleared the House in a 420-0 vote earlier this month.

“We still have not seen the report. I have urged the Department of Justice to release the report, and the administration should not delay in producing the report to Congress,” Klobuchar said.

But Paul objected because Klobuchar wouldn’t agree to amend the nonbinding resolution to include provisions calling for the public release of communications between several Obama-era officials including former President Obama, former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan.

“We need to know was there malfeasance, was there misuse of power, did President Obama’s administration get involved in an election to infiltrate the Trump campaign to trap them? … We need to know that,” he said. “What we need to discover and we do not yet know: Was President Obama involved?”

In this new age of political correctness, it’s not just modern actors, artists and performers who need to watch their words — even classic writers and world-famous pieces of art have found themselves in the PC firing line.

Every other week, it seems like there’s a new case of something “racist” or “culturally insensitive” being banished from view in this fight against anything that could conceivably be “offensive” to the eyes or ears of one group or another.

With more and more old literary classics, theatre plays and works of art being ‘reexamined’ over their ‘problematic’ themes and words, it’s almost like the West’s is in a fight against its own cultural history.

Read by millions of American schoolchildren for more than one hundred years, Mark Twain’s ‘Adventures of Huckleberry Finn’ has suddenly become too controversial for curricula.

Sensitive lawmakers in New Jersey recently introduced a resolution that would remove the book from school programs. Why? Because the novel, written in the 1880s, uses racial slurs and depicts racial attitudes and stereotypes which could “cause students to feel upset.”

Instead of using the American classic to perhaps teach kids about racism and history, the lawmakers have decided to just get rid of it instead. It doesn't even seem to matter that the racial slurs are used by characters who are portrayed negatively in the book, their mere existence in the text is apparently enough to warrant the banishing.

Republicans Move Again to Kill Yemen War Powers Bill

Republicans look to stick anti-Semitism language in the bill again

Having already derailed one attempt at a War Powers Act challenge to the Yemen War, the House Republican leadership is trying to do so again with a motion of recommit, and using the same trick of semantics that worked the last time.

Progressive groups are warning the House Democrats to watch out for a motion to recommit move on the Yemen vote. Already, one such motion was snuck through including language condemning anti-Semitism.

That may sound familiar, as the first House resolution also had similarly language tacked on in an amendment. This allowed the Senate to strip the vote of privilege, arguing it wasn’t a War Powers Act bill, it was a bill on anti-Semitism.

The motions to recommit already forced the Senate to vote once, and the House to vote again Another round of motions could start the process all over again. The goal appears to be to derail the vote and save President Trump from an embarrassing veto.

Israel to wage ‘broad military campaign’ in Gaza if needed: PM

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Tel Aviv is ready to wage a broad military campaign in Gaza if needed, after a two-day flareup of cross-border fighting which has left several people injured on both sides.

"All Israelis should know that if a comprehensive campaign is required, we will enter it strong and safe, and after we have exhausted all of the other possibilities," Netanyahu said after visiting the Gaza frontier, where he met some Israeli commanders.

His comments came after two consecutive nights of heavy Israeli bombardments, which wounded several Palestinians but were responded to with a rocket attack from the enclave. The attack wounded seven Israelis in Mishmeret, an agricultural town north of Tel Aviv, on Monday, and forced Netanyahu to cut short his visit to the US.

Palestinian resistance groups on Wednesday fired rockets into Israel in response to the regime’s airstrikes on several areas, including the town of Khan Yunis and the Rafah border crossing south of Gaza City.

Palestinian sources in the Gaza Strip say Israeli airstrikes on Rafah damaged residential homes and electricity network.

The rockets fired from Gaza have turned into a major security challenge for Netanyahu ahead of Israel's April 9 election. In power for a decade and beset by corruption allegations, he is facing his strongest electoral challenge from a centrist coalition led by a former general.

The Israeli military has deployed artillery and tank brigades along the so-called buffer zone with Gaza.

"The military will resort to a very strong hand against anyone trying to confront our troops," Israeli security cabinet minister Arye Deri told Army Radio.

The UN's special coordinator for the Middle East peace process expressed concerns Tuesday over the escalation of violence.

"I am concerned that we may, once again, be facing another very dangerous escalation of violence in Gaza, with potentially catastrophic consequences," Nickolay Mladenov told the UN Security Council.

"The last two days show how precariously close we came to the brink of war once again."

Gazans plan mass rallies

In Gaza, organizers have announced plans for a massive protest on Saturday along the border to mark the first anniversary of weekly demonstrations at which Israeli forces have already killed more than 260 Palestinians.

Over 26,000 Palestinians have also sustained injuries ever since the anti-occupation protest rallies, known as the Great March of Return, began in the Gaza Strip on March 30, 2018.

The United Nations Human Rights Council said last week that Israeli troops may have committed war crimes by using excessive force against the protests.

The Gaza clashes reached their peak on May 14 last year, on the eve of the 70th anniversary of Nakba Day (Day of Catastrophe), which coincided that year with the US embassy relocation from Tel Aviv to occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds.

Scientists Begin Teaching AI Robots To Evolve & Reproduce

Evolutionary roboticists have decided to begin teaching artificial intelligence powered robots to evolve and reproduce. Why should humans go to the trouble of building more robots when a robot could do it instead?

According to Futurism, this is known as high-tech Darwinism. The researchers’ ultimate goal is to design artificial intelligence and robots that can analyze their own source code and mate with others by combining bits and pieces of their code with that of other robots. This would to create “offspring,” much like organic life, Futurism reported. But it isn’t actually anything like organic life, actually. But evolutionary roboticists who have this new goal have high-tech Darwinism to the extreme. Apparently, just like biological life evolves to fill ecological niches, these robots’ offspring might be better adapted to their environments that their architects specifically built them for.

An interesting future awaits once high-tech Darwinism becomes successful. And Wired reported that some scientists are well on their way to making this technology a reality.

Computer scientists at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam built a simplified system that shows how future robots might swap and combine their “genetic” information.

Their recent research, published in the journal Nature Machine Intelligence and which involved programming two parent robots to code a new “offspring,” found that the resulting offspring contain a mixture of the parents’ code as well as some modules that seemed to have mutated or been blended on its own. –Futurism

David Howard, one of the scientists on the project, told Wired that there’s a positive spin to all of this. “It gives you a lot of diversity, and it gives you the power to explore areas of a design space that you wouldn’t normally go into.” But others see this as a way to permanently force human beings into extinction. “One of the things that makes natural evolution powerful is the idea that it can really specialize a creature to an environment,” Howard told Wired.

But natural evolution doesn’t sound anything like robot evolution. Humans are making themselves obsolete and our two cents is that this will not end well for humanity.

1,100 dead dolphins reportedly discovered on French coast this year: ‘There's never been a number this high’

A staggering number of deceased, maimed dolphins have reportedly been found on the shores of France this year.

1,100 of the aquatic animals have already been discovered on the country’s Atlantic coast so far, The Associated Press reported Thursday. And the record-breaking figure has already managed to top that of 2018, a research official said.

"There's never been a number this high," Willy Daubin, a member of La Rochelle University's National Center for Scientific Research, said. "Already in three months, we have beaten last year's record, which was up from 2017 and even that was the highest in 40 years."

‘STRANGE ANIMAL’ UNCOVERED ON WASHINGTON BEACH IS ‘INCREDIBLY RARE’ FIND

The fault for the deaths has reportedly been widely cast upon industrial fishing, with a large percentage of them occuring after the animals accidentally got caught in industrial nets, Daubin said.

But it’s reportedly unclear what has driven the 2019 increase.

"What fishing machinery or equipment is behind all these deaths?" he asked.

Activists claim a common practice is for fishermen to cut body parts off the suffocated dolphins after they are pulled up in the nets, as a means to save the net itself.
