Former Chair of House Oversight Committee: Adam Schiff Must Lose His Security Clearance

Former Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Jason Chaffetz said on Thursday that Rep. Adam Schiff must lose his security clearance.

The former Utah lawmaker reacted to the political fallout from Attorney General Bill Barr’s summary of Mueller’s “principal conclusions” on the Russia investigation in an interview on Fox Business Thursday.

“I think what [Rep. Schiff] should do is lose his security clearance– without a security clearance he can’t serve on the committee. To lose the trust, albeit on the other side of the aisle, I have never seen,” he said during an interview with “Trish Regan Primetime” Thursday.

“Look at the way the committee operated before, with [Democratic Congressman and former House Intel Committee Chair] Dutch Ruppersberger. We have never had this problem,” Chaffetz said, adding, “We don’t have these problems except with Adam Schiff. I don’t think he should be the Chairman, and I don’t think he should have a security clearance.”

The Democrat-media complex was stunned when Attorney General Bill Barr revealed that Mueller concluded his investigation and found no evidence that Trump’s camp colluded with the Russians during the 2016 presidential election.

House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), however, continues to spread the BIG LIE that Trump colluded with the Russians despite never actually providing evidence to back up his outrageous claims.

In fact, shameless liar Adam Schiff told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Sunday that there is “significant and incriminating evidence” that Trump colluded with Russia during the 2016 election even though Mueller concluded his investigation with no new indictments.

Schiff is also a serial leaker and reportedly leaked portions of Donald Trump Jr.’s closed-door testimony to CNN — a stunning ethics violation.

President Trump was so furious with “pencil neck” Adam Schiff that he called on the California lawmaker to resign from Congress altogether after members of the House Intel Panel signed a letter to remove Schiff from the Committee.

The Future of Education is Borderless

The entire formal education apparatus seems to reinforce the repetition of learning from past generations rather than forging new ideas and new applications for a world changing at an increasingly rapid pace. As Internet connectivity expands and the speed of accessing information increases, the opportunities for formal learning should also accelerate. After all, information itself is already borderless for much of the world’s population that has access to a free and open Internet. One would have to assume that the barriers for entry to the information contained within the world’s universities also should fall.

We often look at the trends in digital media, automation, and the decentralization of products and services as a transition from a jobs economy to a skills economy. This is most certainly true, but is our formal education properly keeping pace with new realities? Is the nature of “getting a degree” in a single area of study the best approach in the modern world? Or might it be best to gain a breadth of disciplines and skills most useful in an expanding world, both geographically and economically?

In my experience, any opportunity one can find to expand their knowledge beyond the borders of their own physical surroundings and culture is particularly beneficial. One of my foundational personal experiences was postponing my journey from high school to college by taking several months to travel throughout the UK. While I didn’t enroll in any accredited form of study, the education I received from attending lectures, visiting museums and speaking with a whole new group of human beings taught me immeasurable skills that I have applied later in life.

For example, I now reside outside of my home country, but my transition from the United States to a different culture was not something I would describe as “culture shock.” To be sure, I encountered significant differences that caught me off-guard, but I already had the confidence of knowing that I could walk anywhere on the planet and find the tools and the people necessary to adapt and ensure success. A short-term program, or even a short-term visit, in another country is a perfect way to test the waters and alleviate many of the fears that we are indoctrinated to have.

Unfortunately, those who wish to pursue a long-term education beyond their own borders are often penalized for doing so. According to Business Insider and several other reports I have come across over the years, international students face much higher tuition costs. In the United States, this has served to subsidize American universities:

[R]ecent data from SelfScore, a company providing financial services to international students, reveals that foreign students pay up to three times more than in-state students at public universities, “effectively subsidizing tuition costs for domestic students and functioning as a bailout for universities.”

Israeli military resorts to trolling to berate Gaza protesters … gets trolled itself

The IDF took to Twitter to jokingly explain why Palestinian “riots” in Gaza are not “protests” and justify the military response to it. The trolling session didn’t go so well, however, and the IDF got a taste of its own medicine.

The bizarre thread was posted on the IDF Twitter account on Friday, describing in tongue-in-cheek fashion why Palestinian protests shouldn’t be described as “peaceful” and perceived as “violent riots” instead. Some tweets were tech-savvy.

Door-to-door gun confiscations begin in New Zealand; one gun owner already dead, with thousands more targeted by armed government thugs

If you want to know what tyranny looks like in a “democracy,” turn your gaze towards New Zealand, where liberal tolerance and acceptance has been replaced by anti-gun zealotry and authoritarianism, thanks to a single act of violence by a man who wasn’t even born on the island.

Following Brenton Tarrant’s terrorist attack on a pair of mosques earlier this month, the New Zealand prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, and her government wasted no time in declaring that an entire class of firearms that were previously legal to own were suddenly illegal to own.

“Assault” weapons of the type used by Tarrant during his attack have no place in a civil society, you see, even if 99.999 percent of them are owned by law-abiding people and used responsibly.

As such, they must all be confiscated because getting rid of them will also stop future acts of violence and terrorism. Or so New Zealanders have been told.

But what if the act of getting rid of these guns actually causes more violence and death?

The Truth About Guns is reporting that, according to the country’s biggest firearms forum, Kiwi cops are now going door-to-door to gun owners’ places of business, their homes, and even gun ranges “in an attempt to gather information and get gun owners to relinquish their firearms.”

Pay attention, Americans — because even if you don’t own a gun, these are tactics tyrannical Left-wing Democrats will employ to force us all to live a certain way if they are ever empowered enough.

According to screenshots of the firearms forum, one gun owner is already dead

French, Belgian intelligence are plotting false flag chemical attack in Syria’s Idlib – Moscow

The secret services of France and Belgium are plotting to stage a false flag chemical attack in Syria to frame Moscow, the Russian Defense Ministry said. Agents of the two countries are cooperating with terrorist leaders in Idlib.

Militants, occupying large parts of the Syrian province of Idlib are readying a false flag attack involving chemical weaponry, the head of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation in Syria, Major General Viktor Kupchishin said on Friday.

The attack is being prepared in close cooperation between operatives of Belgian and French secret services and terrorist groups, including the rebranded Syrian Al-Qaeda offshoot – Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS, previously known as Al-Nusra Front). Apart from them, the “pseudo humanitarian,” as the General put it, White Helmets group is also taking part in preparations.

Toyota Security Breach Exposes Personal Info of 3.1 Million Clients

The personal information of roughly 3.1 million Toyota customers may have been leaked following a security breach of multiple Toyota and Lexus sales subsidiaries, as detailed in a breach notification issued by the car maker today.

As detailed in a press release published on Toyota'a global newsroom, unauthorized access was detected on the computing systems of Tokyo Sales Holdings, Tokyo Tokyo Motor, Tokyo Toyopet, Toyota Tokyo Corolla, Nets Toyota Tokyo, Lexus Koishikawa Sales, Jamil Shoji (Lexus Nerima), and Toyota West Tokyo Corolla.

"It turned out that up to 3.1 million items of customer information may have been leaked outside the company. The information that may have been leaked this time does not include information on credit cards," says the data breach notification.

Toyota has not yet confirmed if the attackers were able to exfiltrate any of the customer personal information exposed after the IT systems of its subsidiaries were breached.

We have not confirmed the fact that customer information has been leaked at this time, but we will continue to conduct detailed surveys, placing top priority on customer safety and security.

"We apologize to everyone who has been using Toyota and Lexus vehicles for the great concern," states Toyota's notification.

Also, "We take this situation seriously, and will thoroughly implement information security measures at dealers and the entire Toyota Group."

This breach comes after Australian Toyota dealers were also targeted by a cyber attack which led to multiple corporate IT systems going down on February 19.

In a statement published two days after the incident that impacted Toyota's Australian dealers, a car maker spokesperson said that:

Our network of 279 dealers is still operational and able to help customers with their enquiries. However, there have been some impacts to parts supply, which is subsequently delaying servicing at some dealerships.

Security experts consider the attacks targeting Toyota's subsidiaries and dealers to be part of a large scale coordinated operation attributed to the Vietnamese-backed APT32 hacking group, also known as OceanLotus and Cobalt Kitty, says ZDNet.

FireEye says that APT32 is targeting "foreign companies investing in Vietnam’s manufacturing, consumer products, consulting and hospitality sectors."

APT32 also targeted research institutes from around the world, media organizations, various human rights organizations, and even Chinese maritime construction firms in the past. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]

Annual Lobbying on “Pro-Israel”, A Major Force in US Foreign Affairs: Summary for 2018

One of, if not the most, powerful international issue lobby is that of the pro-Israel crowd. Well-financed and politically powerful, the pro-Israel lobby is a major force on American foreign affairs that looks to continue America’s military and fiscal support of the Jewish nation-state. The lobby has had recent policy success with the Trump administration moving the U.S. embassy in Israel from the internationally-recognized capital of Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a move long advocated by some in the pro-Israel lobby. Notably however, JStreet, one of the larger pro-Israel groups opposed the move. The administration is very friendly with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and has taken a hard line on Israel peace talks, barely talking to the Palestinians and ending all foreign aid to the West Bank and Gaza.

Even with the policy victories coming under a Republican president, the lobby still remained staunch Democratic contributors, giving more than $14.8 million in the 2018 midterms to mostly Democrats. This marked their third-biggest cycle ever and their biggest non-presidential cycle.

The largest group which contributed was JStreetPAC which gave more than $4 million to candidates in 2018. Only one other pro-Israel group spent over $1 million on the cycle – NorPAC with more than $1.1 million.

The top recipient of pro-Israel funds in the 2018 midterms was Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) with $546,507. Menendez is the ranking member on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) received the second-most with $349,437.

2018 was an all-time high for money spent on lobbying for pro-Israel issues with more than $5 million. The robust lobbying force was led by the face of the pro-Israel movement the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). AIPAC spent more than $3.5 million on lobbying in 2018, making up the vast majority the entire lobby spent. A distant second was the Israeli-American Coalition for Action which dropped $550,000.

The pro-Israel lobby is not entirely unified on policy decisions. JStreet, the group with the biggest campaign contributions, differs from AIPAC which led the lobbying effort. JStreet is a more liberal organization and is often critical of the Netanyahu and Trump administrations. AIPAC on the other hand has a policy of not publicly criticizing the Israeli government and has been more supportive of Trump.

SPLC on Life-Support: Former Staffer Quits, Calls Organization a Scam in Tell-All Article

The Southern Poverty Law Center was long ago exposed as money-making scam.

It has amassed almost half-a-billion dollars fighting an imaginary tide of “hate” that is ever “rising,” which provides the twin benefits of bringing in that money and advancing the totalitarian goals of the radical Left. Topping that agenda is demonizing any opposition to the Left as “hate,” be it racism, homophobia, transphobia, and Islamophobia.

But last week, the discredited group fired its co-founder, Morris Dees, a shocker in the “civil rights community” that opened the door to discussing exactly who Dees is and what goes on at SPLC, also called the Poverty Palace.

Former SPLC staff member Bob Moser took to the New Yorker yesterday to elaborate on what we’ve known for some time: The SPLC is, again, a money-making scam. But he revealed that truth from the inside.

Until Justice Rolls Down Like Dollars

A detailed report in the Los Angeles Times explained that SPLC fired Dees likely because of the long-term abuse of women and blacks at the organization.

Stephen Bright, a Yale law professor and former director of the Southern Center for Human Rights in Atlanta, told the Times that SPLC’s fundraising is “fraudulent,” and called Dees a “flimflam man and he’s managed to flimflam his way along for many years raising money by telling people about the Ku Klux Klan and hate groups,” he said. “He sort of goes to whatever will sell and has, of course, brought in millions and millions and millions of dollars.”

The flim-flam man’s career is officially over, and Moser offers a few insights that open with an amusing but telling vignette:

I’ve been thinking about the jokes my S.P.L.C. colleagues and I used to tell to keep ourselves sane. Walking to lunch past the center’s Maya Lin-designed memorial to civil-rights martyrs, we’d cast a glance at the inscription from Martin Luther King, Jr., etched into the black marble — “Until justice rolls down like waters”— and intone, in our deepest voices, “Until justice rolls down like dollars.” The Law Center had a way of turning idealists into cynics.

Working in a building that “made social justice ‘look despotic,’” the earnest young leftist quickly learned that fighting hate involved a lot of hypocrisy and a lot more money.

Of the hypocrisy, Moser wrote, blacks at SPLC were almost uniformly “administrative and support staff — ‘the help,’ one of my black colleagues said pointedly.” But the “‘professional staff’ — the lawyers, researchers, educators, public-relations officers, and fund-raisers — were almost exclusively white. Just two staffers, including me, were openly gay.”

Of the money-making, Moser quotes another of Dees’s critics, who says Dees viewed “civil-rights work mainly as a marketing tool for bilking gullible Northern liberals.”

So beyond Dees’s having a “reputation for hitting on young women,” SPLC is just a storefront for selling the “fight against hate” to make a pile of money. “The work could be meaningful and gratifying,” Moser wrote. “But it was hard, for many of us, not to feel like we’d become pawns in what was, in many respects, a highly profitable scam.”

SPLC, a former staff member said to Moser, was a “virtual buffet of injustices.”

Moser eventually admits that he and other staffers didn’t care enough about their own integrity to blow the whistle:

Outside of work, we spent a lot of time drinking and dishing in Montgomery bars and restaurants about the oppressive security regime, the hyperbolic fund-raising appeals, and the fact that, though the center claimed to be effective in fighting extremism, “hate” always continued to be on the rise, more dangerous than ever, with each year’s report on hate groups. “The S.P.L.C.— making hate pay,” we’d say.

It wasn’t funny then. At this moment, it seems even grimmer.

But Moser and this coworkers participated in the “making hate pay.”
