CIA gives tech rivals chance to take on Amazon in cloud services

The CIA is preparing to significantly increase its reliance on cloud-computing services, with plans to solicit tens of billions of dollars of work divided among multiple tech companies.

The program would also dramatically expand the federal market for the technology – and give a chance for other companies to compete with Amazon.com Inc.

Potential contenders for the new work include Microsoft Corp., International Business Machines Corp. and Oracle Corp., which are all seeking to catch up to market leader Amazon Web Services in selling cloud services to the intelligence community.

Amazon already has a $600 million contract from the CIA, and Oracle has gone to court to challenge a Defense Department winner-take-all solicitation that it says would favor Amazon.

The CIA's initiative, which was outlined to potential vendors last week, calls for buying cloud computing services from multiple companies to handle both unclassified and secret information, according to preliminary government documents presented to industry representatives and obtained by Bloomberg News.

Dubbed the Commercial Cloud Enterprise initiative, or C2E, the program is at the heart of the Central Intelligence Agency's plans to use cloud services to power the intelligence community's technology needs worldwide, according to the documents.

With the new competition, the CIA plans to expand the cloud computing capabilities it gained through the Amazon contract awarded in 2013. Amazon, the dominant player in cloud computing, also became the leader in the federal market through that deal, which has been described as "transformational" by Sean Roche, the CIA's associate deputy director of digital innovation, and won praise from former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.

The agency indicated it intends to award one or more contracts that would last at least five years, with the option to extend the time frame of those agreements. The government plans to release draft contract requirements by January and a final request for proposals in May 2020, according to the documents. The agency aims to make an award in 2021.

The CIA is still soliciting feedback from market leaders and the exact scope and strategy of the project – including the goal to use multiple companies – has yet to be made final.

If the CIA follows through on its intention to use multiple companies, it may avoid the industry criticism that has plagued the Defense Department's plans to award its $10 billion Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure contract, or JEDI, to a sole company.

The lawsuit by Redwood City, California-based Oracle alleges that conflicts of interest among some Defense Department officials with ties to Amazon led to the winner-take-all award and to narrow criteria that could only be met by the company. The Pentagon has said a single cloud provider would be more efficient and secure.

The CIA approach was welcomed by potential bidders.

"The intelligence community, with this approach, recognizes the value of cloud diversity and the advantages of a hybrid, multi-cloud approach,"said Ray Spicer, director of defense and intelligence for IBM U.S. Federal. "That's the way the majority of the industry is operating today and throughout the world."

Amazon Web Services said in a statement that it's "excited to see the intelligence community build on its transformational success and extend its commitment to the commercial cloud."

The CIA, Oracle and Microsoft declined to comment.

Since the CIA's 2013 deal with Amazon, Microsoft and other companies have made headway in the broader federal market for cloud services, which has grown more competitive and lucrative as more agencies seek to modernize their technology infrastructure.

If the new CIA initiative expands its pool of providers to include companies such as IBM, Oracle and Alphabet Inc.'s Google, those companies may have more standing to pitch themselves to other federal agencies as offering products that are as secure as Amazon's.

In May, Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft announced a deal that would let 17 intelligence agencies use Azure Government, a cloud service tailored for federal and local governments. The company also said it would soon obtain a top certification required to host the government's most sensitive information – a distinction currently held only by Amazon Web Services.

Amazon leads among U.S. companies in the worldwide public cloud infrastructure market with 45.6 percent, followed by Microsoft with 10.7 percent, IBM with 5.6 percent and Google 3.3 percent, based on cloud industry 2017 revenue, according to the International Data Corporation, a market intelligence firm based in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Brazil’s Top Election Court Catches Google Manipulating Search Results to Point to Negative Entries on Bolsonaro …Just Like They Do with Conservatives in America

The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSA), Brazil’s top election court, fined Fernando Haddad (President Jair Bolsonaro’s leftist opponent) for having a contract with Google to manipulate search results during the election.

Luiz Edson Fachin, of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), ruled that the PT candidate for the presidency, Fernando Haddad, paid Google to highlight negative content and manipulated searches to point to a website with negative coverage of Bolsonaro.

Google wasn’t fined because they claimed that as soon as they were notified by the court of the irregularities they dishonored the contract.

This is a common practice by Google in the United States.

Google manipulates search results for conservatives and conservative publishers to point to negative articles and hit pieces.

So does Google allow people or companies to pay them in order to manipulate search results or only if they are far left/socialist/communist websites?

Google claims their search results are driven by some sacred algorithm. Then how is it possible that they offered such a service to Socialists?

Globo Politics reported (translated):

Luiz Edson Fachin, of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), ruled that the PT candidate for the presidency, Fernando Haddad, defeated last year’s election, and his coalition paid a fine of R $ 176,500 for impetus irregular content against the president Jair Bolsonaro (PSL), who won the dispute.

In a ruling on Tuesday, Fachin said that the Petista campaign paid Google to highlight negative content against Bolsonaro, which violated the electoral law and caused an imbalance in the dispute. The minister denied, however, punishments to Google, on the understanding that the company suspended the contract when notified by the TSE.

Haddad’s advisory issued a statement in which he said Haddad expressed “disbelief and surprise” over Fachin’s decision.

There is even a video that shows how Google manipulates search results to smear President Bolsonaro.

South Korea says its leader will meet President Trump in the U.S. next month for talks on North Korean nuclear diplomacy.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korean President Moon Jae-in will travel to the United States in two weeks for a summit with President Donald Trump on stalemated North Korean nuclear diplomacy.

It would be their first meeting since Trump’s second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Hanoi last month collapsed due to disputes on U.S.-led sanctions. The breakdown of that summit put Moon, a liberal who has shuttled between Washington and Pyongyang, in a difficult position on how to further engage North Korea and facilitate the nuclear diplomacy.

Moon’s office said Moon will visit the United States on April 10-11 to discuss how to strengthen their countries’ alliance and achieve North Korea’s complete denuclearization and peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The White House said Trump and first lady Melania Trump will welcome Moon and his wife Kim Jung-sook to the White House on April 11. It said in a statement the alliance between the U.S. and South Korea “remains the linchpin of peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.”

Earlier this month, North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui threatened to pull out of the nuclear negotiations with the United States citing a lack of its corresponding steps to match some disarmament measures North Korea took last year. She said Kim would soon decide whether to continue the talks and his moratorium on nuclear and missile tests.

South Korea’s spy agency told lawmakers in a private briefing Friday that North Korea has nearly completed its work to restore a long-range rocket launch facility that it had partially dismantled last year at the beginning of the nuclear diplomacy, according to Kim Min-ki, one of the lawmakers who attended the meeting.

The lawmaker also cited the National Intelligence Service as saying the North’s uranium-enrichment facility at its main nuclear complex remains operational. The NIS said it doesn’t comment on intelligence assessments provided to lawmakers.

Citing analyses of commercial satellite imagery, many civilian experts in the U.S. have previously given similar assessments on the North’s Tongchang-ri launch facility and the Yongbyon nuclear complex. But there have been no reports that North Korea is preparing for a long-range rocket launch or a nuclear test anytime soon.

Moon’s push to expand ties with North Korea and resume dormant inter-Korean economic projects is in doubt as U.S. officials maintain that sanctions on North Korea would stay in place unless the country takes significant denuclearization steps.

North Korea recently withdrew its entire staff at a frontline liaison office with South Korea before sending some of them back to the office. Seoul’s Defense Ministry said Friday that North Korea hasn’t responded to its offer 11 days ago to hold military talks to discuss planned joint searches for Korean War dead at their border area.

Also Friday, South Korea received the first two of the 40 F-35A fighter jets that it has agreed to buy from Lockheed Martin by 2021. The F-35A jets that arrived at an airport in southern South Korea have become the country’s first stealth fighter jets. North Korea has previously called the introduction of F-35A aircraft a plot by Seoul to attack North Korea.

Some experts say North Korea still hopes to keep diplomacy with the United States alive because it is desperate to win sanctions relief to revive its trouble economy.

In a possible reflection of its resolve to press ahead with its engagement policy on North Korea, South Korea’s Unification Ministry on Friday reiterated its position that it will push to hold a regular summit with North Korea and realize Kim’s promise to travel to Seoul.

Nigerian Brothers' Attorney Rips Smollett's Attorney For 'Whiteface' Suggestion: She's 'Giving Lawyers A Bad Name'

On Thursday, the attorney for the Nigerian brothers who were allegedly involved in the attack on Jussie Smollett slammed Smollett’s attorney, Tina Glandian, for suggesting that the reason Smollett initially claimed his attackers were white was because one of the brothers may have been wearing whiteface on the night of the attack. Gloria Schmidt, appearing on CNN with host Don Lemon, asserted, “I heard that, and I think that's absolutely just atrocious. It adds to, I think, why people are giving lawyers a bad name.”

Glandian had been interviewed by NBC Today’s show host Savannah Guthrie, who asked why Smollett had claimed his attackers were white. Guthrie queried, “Why did he say that? He could have said ‘I don’t know.’ The Osundairo brothers, what are the chances that that’s the case, that he saw somebody with light skin?”

Glandian answered, “Well, you know, I mean, I think there’s, obviously you can disguise that, you can put makeup on; there is, actually, interestingly enough, a video, you know, I think police did minimal investigation in this case. It took me all of about five minutes to Google, you know, I was looking up the brothers, and one of the first videos that showed up, actually, was one of the brothers in whiteface doing a Joker monologue with white makeup on, and so it is not implausible.”

On Thursday, the exchange between Lemon and Schmidt went like this:

Lemon: The brothers stand behind their story —

Schmidt: Sure.

Lemon: — right? They stand behind their story that —

Schmidt: Yes.

Lemon: — that they were paid to do this; there’s a $3,500 check to stage this event; you told Anderson Cooper that the check was for training services, and you told George Stephanopoulos —

Schmidt: It was for both.

Lemon: Okay, it was for both.

Schmidt: It was for both. Yes. They stand behind that. They stand behind the fact that Jussie had also promised them five hundred dollars when they came back from Nigeria for their role in this attack.

Lemon: So they never recanted their story?

Schmidt: They never recanted their story.

Lemon: Do they face the possibility of charges? Are they going to be charged in this case? Because if he didn’t do it —

Schmidt: No, because they didn’t —

Lemon: Then … ( he pauses)

Schmidt: I mean, what charges could they face? Because they were not, they did not commit a hate crime; they did not stalk Jussie out and attack him for his sexual orientation or for his race. This was completely a publicity stunt that my clients had trusted with their friend, and once this got so big and they saw that this was affecting so any people, they stood up and said we’re not going to be part of this fraud. And that’s what happened and they were committed to doing that.

Lemon: One more thing before I let you go: one of the attorneys said that the brothers could have been wearing whiteface that night?

Schmidt: I — I heard that, and I think that's absolutely just atrocious. It adds to, I think, why people are giving lawyers a bad name. It's to distract from the real issues here and by putting out conspiracy theories that, perhaps, my clients were wearing whiteface, it just adds to the ridiculous and the offensiveness of this entire thing.

Breaking: Devin Nunes Fires Starting Pistol. Spygate Conspirators Are Going Down!

(Tea Party PAC) – House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) plans to send a criminal referral next week to the DOJ that would detail “multiple referrals on a number of different crimes,” among them leaking classified information, as part of his investigation into criminal misconduct at the DOJ and the FBI, according to an exclusive interview with Breitbart Wednesday.

“As of now, it’ll be one criminal referral but with multiple referrals on a number of different crimes,” he said.. “We will have some leakers in there for sure.”

“We knew this was a joke from the beginning, and I’ve said as much for a long time. Basically from the time our report came out, which has been a year. But now, the real work begins. It’s good to not have that sitting out there. But we have to now go on offense and track down all these dirty cops and bad players,” he added.

Nunes also plans to interview about 50 people, including individuals who have yet to be called before Congress, who were involved with or know about pushing the notoriously phony Steele dossier within various government agencies, and how it was used to obtain a surveillance warrant on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Nunes has been an enemy of the mainstream media for his long standing criticism of the now-dead collusion narrative, and is now determined to get to the bottom of how it all began, which he says was long before the FBI claims to have officially initiated the investigation into the Trump campaign, which would be late July 2016.

“It all stems from the fact that we know that this investigation started long before the end of July,” he said. “We are quite confident that this investigation started long before they told us that it did.”

Nunes said the plot goes all the way up to the Obama White House, although it is not yet clear how involved the former President himself was.

“Look, there’s big problems — big problems that the public needs to know about. Maximum transparency is the best thing here,” he said.

He also said he believes that Barr will be compelled to act on his criminal referral.

“There’ll be things in there that cannot be ignored. There will be crimes … so they have to be dealt with,” he said.

On Tuesday, Nunes told Fox News that he will be targeting “people who lied to Congress, perjury, [and] criminal conspiracy.”

When it comes to his Democrat counterparts who will refuse to let the Trump-Russia collusion narrative die, he says, “These guys are chasing Chupacabra.”

“That really is what they’re looking for … unicorns, the Lochness monster—they’re interchangeable,” he added.

He also said that the issue of tin foil hatter Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) should be addressed by Democrat leadership.

“I’ll let our leadership speak to that. My job is to work with whoever is there. At the end of the day, [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi makes the decision. But I’ll just say that I think more real journalists need to ask real questions to Team Chupacabra,” he said.

Federal Court Finds California Magazine Ban Violates the Second Amendment

In one of the strongest judicial statements in favor of the Second Amendment to date, Judge Roger T. Benitez of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California determined on Friday that California’s ban on commonly possessed firearm magazines violates the Second Amendment.

The case is Duncan v. Becerra.

The NRA-supported case had already been up to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on the question of whether the law’s enforcement should be suspended during proceedings on its constitutionality. Last July, a three judge panel of the Ninth Circuit upheld Judge Benitez’s suspension of enforcement and sent the case back to him for further proceedings on the merits of the law itself.

Judge Benitez rendered his opinion late Friday afternoon and handed Second Amendment supporters a sweeping victory by completely invalidating California’s 10-round limit on magazine capacity. “Individual liberty and freedom are not outmoded concepts,” he declared.

In a scholarly and comprehensive opinion, Judge Benitez subjected the ban both to the constitutional analysis he argued was required by the U.S. Supreme Court in District of Columbia v. Heller and a more complicated and flexible test the Ninth Circuit has applied in prior Second Amendment cases.

Either way, Judge Benitez ruled, the law would fail. Indeed, he characterized the California law as “turning the Constitution upside down.” He also systematically dismantled each of the state’s purported justifications for the law, demonstrating the factual and legal inconsistencies of their claims.

NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox hailed the decision as a “huge win for gun owners” and a “landmark recognition of what courts have too often treated as a disfavored right.”

“Judge Benitez took the Second Amendment seriously and came to the conclusion required by the Constitution,” Cox said. “The same should be true of any court analyzing a ban on a class of arms law-abiding Americans commonly possess for self-defense or other lawful purposes.”

Unfortunately, Friday’s opinion is not likely to be the last word on the case. The state will likely appeal to the Ninth Circuit, which has proven notably hostile to the Second Amendment in past decisions.

Nevertheless, the thoroughness of Judge Benitez’s analysis should give Second Amendment supporters the best possible chance for success in appellate proceedings, particularly if the case ultimately lands before the U.S. Supreme Court.

In the meantime, Friday’s order prohibits California from enforcing its magazine restrictions, leaving its law-abiding residents safer and freer, at least for the time being.

When the UK’s left-wing prime minister was one of Israel’s closest friends

LONDON — Harold Wilson may be less well-known internationally than Margaret Thatcher or Tony Blair, but he dominated British politics for much of the 1960s and 1970s — and remains the only modern-day prime minister to win four general elections.

His return to office 45 years ago this month was as unexpected as his defeat had been four years previously when, having rewarded him with a landslide victory in 1966, the voters unceremoniously ejected his Labour government in June 1970.

But, in many regards, Wilson’s roller-coaster ride in the decade between 1964 and 1974, from victory to defeat and back again, was completely predictable.

Illinois Prosecutor's Association Condemns State's Attorney Kim Foxx: Her Actions "Undermine the Very Foundation of our Public Court System"

The police letter to Jussie Smollett said, “The Chicago Police Department take seriously those who make false statements to the police, thereby diverting resources from other investigations.”

The Chicago police told Smollett to send them the payment in a timely manner.

Smollett was let off this week by the corrupt State’s Attorney’s office after his vicious stunt to smear Trump supporters as homophobic, racists. He allegedly employed two Nigerian brothers to play the parts of the homophobic white men.

The Illinois Prosecutor’s Bar Association released a letter on Friday condemning State’s Attorney Kim Foxx for her highly irregular and dishonest maneuver to dismiss all charges against hate hoaxer Jussie Smollett.

The Illinois Prosecutors Bar Association serves as the voice for nearly 1,000 front line prosecutors across the State who work tirelessly towards the pursuit of justice. The events of the past few days regarding the Cook County State’s Attorney’s handling of the Jussie Smollett case is not condoned by the IPBA, nor is it representative of the honest ethical work prosecutors provide to the citizens of the State of Illinois on a daily basis.

The manner in which this case was dismissed was abnormal and unfamiliar to those who practice law in criminal courthouses across the State. Prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges alike do not recognize the arrangement Mr. Smollett received. Even more problematic, the State’s Attorney and her representatives have fundamentally misled the public on the law and circumstances surrounding the dismissal.

The public has the right to know the truth, and we set out to do that here.

When an elected State’s Attorney recuses herself from a prosecution, Illinois law provides that the court shall appoint a special prosecutor. See 55 ILCS 5/3-9008(a-15). Typically, the special prosecutor is a neighboring State’s Attorney, the Attorney General, or the State Appellate Prosecutor. Here, the State’s Attorney kept the case within her office and thus never actually recused herself as a matter of law.

Additionally, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office falsely informed the public that the uncontested sealing of the criminal court case was “mandatory” under Illinois law. This statement is not accurate. To the extent the case was even eligible for an immediate seal, that action was discretionary, not mandatory, and only upon the proper filing of a petition to seal. See 20 ILCS 2630/5.2(g)(2). For seals not subject to Section 5.2(g)(2), the process employed in this case by the State’s Attorney effectively denied law enforcement agencies of legally required Notice (See 20 ILCS 2630/5.2(d)(4)) and the legal opportunity to object to the sealing of the file (See 20 ILCS 2630/5.2(d)(5)). The State’s Attorney not only declined to fight the sealing of this case in court, but then provided false information to the public regarding it.

The appearance of impropriety here is compounded by the fact that this case was not on the regularly scheduled court call, the public had no reasonable notice or opportunity to view these proceedings, and the dismissal was done abruptly at what has been called an “emergency” hearing. To date, the nature of the purported emergency has not been publicly disclosed. The sealing of a court case immediately following a hearing where there was no reasonable notice or opportunity for the public to attend is a matter of grave public concern and undermines the very foundation of our public court system.

Member of savage Ripper Crew released: When a life sentence doesn't mean life

The members of the Ripper Crew, from left, Robin Gecht, Andrew Kokoraleis, Thomas Kokoraleis and Edward Spreitzer, killed as many as 17 women. <←– HAD TO BE 17 DIDN'T IT

The members of the Ripper Crew, from left, Robin Gecht, Andrew Kokoraleis, Thomas Kokoraleis and Edward Spreitzer, killed as many as 17 women. (Chicago Police Department)

Editorial BoardEditorials reflect the opinion of the Editorial Board, as determined by the members of the board, the editorial page editor and the publisher.

When then-Gov. Bruce Rauner called for restoration of the death penalty for mass murderers and murderers of police last year, his proposal went nowhere. No one has been executed by the state since 1999, and capital punishment was abolished in 2011, largely because wrongful convictions had eroded public support for it.

In a 2010 survey, just 1 in 3 Illinoisans thought it should be kept. Nationally, 54 percent of Americans support the death penalty, a Pew Research Center poll found last year — a figure well below what it was two decades ago.

But the question assumes that there is a surefire alternative to putting certain criminals to death — namely, locking them up and throwing away the key. In that 2010 Illinois poll, 43 percent of those surveyed said the punishment for murder should be life imprisonment with no chance of parole plus payment of restitution to the victim’s family. Another 18 percent were content with just life in prison with no chance of parole.

The problem is that you can’t count on a life sentence to be a life sentence. The last person put to death in Illinois was Andrew Kokoraleis, a member of the “Ripper Crew,” which carried out the sadistic rape and killing of as many as 17 women, some of whom were mutilated alive. The exact number is not known because the killers couldn’t remember them all.

One of Andrew Kokoraleis’ confederates was his brother Thomas, who admitted being present at three slayings. He was convicted by a jury of the rape and murder of 21-year-old Lorry Ann Borowski of Elmhurst.

A judge chose to sentence him to life in prison. But his conviction was struck down over legal errors, and the case was resolved with the defendant pleading guilty and being sentenced to 70 years. Thanks to the rules in effect back then, which allowed him to cut his time in half through good behavior, Kokoraleis was released Friday at age 58. He is expected to live at a Christian-oriented facility in the Wheaton area.

Another member of the crew, Edward Spreitzer, who had his death sentence commuted by Gov. George Ryan in 2003 along with those of all the other inmates on death row, is not eligible for parole. But Robin Gecht could go free in 2042 at age 89.

We won’t relitigate Thomas Kokoraleis’ case or his guilt. But we feel no hesitation in saying that life behind bars should have been the certain sentence for what he did. There is something profoundly exasperating about seeing someone who took part in such wanton slaughter being allowed to walk free among civilized people.

If you wonder why a majority of Americans continue to support capital punishment, cases like that of the Ripper Crew explain why: The death penalty has many flaws, which is why this page opposes it. But it does bring finality.

The Plague Killing Frogs Everywhere Is Far Worse Than Scientists Thought

As a threat to wildlife, an amphibian fungus has become “the most deadly pathogen known to science.”

On Thursday, 41 scientists published the first worldwide analysis of a fungal outbreak that’s been wiping out frogs for decades. The devastation turns out to be far worse than anyone had previously realized.

Writing in the journal Science, the researchers conclude that populations of more than 500 species of amphibians have declined significantly because of the outbreak — including at least 90 species presumed to have gone extinct. The figure is more than twice as large as earlier estimates.

“That’s fairly seismic,” said Wendy Palen, a biologist at Simon Fraser University who is a co-author of a commentary accompanying the study. “It now earns the moniker of the most deadly pathogen known to science.”

President Trump issues new permit for Keystone XL pipeline construction

President Donald Trump issued a new permit for the Keystone XL pipeline on Friday in an attempt to undermine recent moves by a Montana court to block the project.

The controversial TransCanada Corporation’s Keystone XL pipeline was first proposed under President George W. Bush but then later stopped by President Barack Obama, whose administration cited potential pollution concerns. In one of the first big moves of his presidency, Trump overturned Obama’s decision and said it would benefit the economy. The president approved the development with an executive order.

More than 10 years after it was first proposed, the pipeline continues to face backlash from environmental groups and lawmakers over its potential to contribute to global warming.

The pipeline would move 800,000 barrels of crude oil daily from Canada down through the Central Plains to the Gulf Coast. Because the pipeline moves across borders, it requires a presidential permit.

An AP map shows the proposed Keystone XL pipeline extension route.

TransCanada Corporation celebrated the decision in a statement.

“President Trump has been clear that he wants to create jobs and advance U.S. energy security and the Keystone XL pipeline does both of those things,” said Russ Girling, TransCanada’s president and chief executive officer. “We thank President Trump for his leadership and steadfast support to enable the advancement of this critical energy infrastructure project for North America.”

“The magnitude of the work on this project has been extensive. The Keystone XL pipeline has been studied more than any other pipeline in history and the environmental reviews are clear – the project can be built and operated in an environmentally sustainable and responsible way,” Girling said.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce said they were “pleased” with Trump’s action.

“We’re pleased to see action that will help clear the way for development of the Keystone XL pipeline," Christopher Guith, Acting President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Global Energy Institute said in a statement. "The Keystone XL pipeline is one of the most studied pieces of infrastructure in American history.”

But Anthony Swift, director of the Canada project at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) underscored concerns that the pipeline “would drive dangerous climate change.”

“The Keystone XL tar sands pipeline was a bad idea from Day One and it remains a terrible idea. If built, it would threaten our land, our drinking water, and our communities from Montana and Nebraska to the Gulf Coast,” Swift said.

“President Trump is once again showing his disdain for the rule of law. Last time the president tried to ram this permit through he lost in court. We are going to continue to fight this dangerous tar sands pipeline proposal.”

Bombshell New Allegations (OF COMPLETE FALSE NARRATIVE FAKE NEWS): Kushner Appears to be Extorting Qatari Government

While America’s attention has been focused primarily on the Mueller report, over the course of the last several weeks, a story that likely isn’t clearly captured in the Mueller report has been building steam. For well over a year now, there has been speculation about Jared Kushner’s security clearance, as well as his meetings and ties with various leaders within the Middle East. Now it appears as if this speculation is becoming a full-blown scandal.

Last week on KrassenCast we spoke to Vicky Ward, an investigative journalist and author of the new book Kushner Inc. Since then, Ward, who has been investigating ties that Kushner has had with the Saudis, Emiratis and Qataris, has come across new information that appears to imply that the president’s son-in-law may be extorting the nation of Qatar. HillReporter has also been in contact with several sources with ties to the Qatari government, which also help confirm some of the information that Ward has provided. Ward made another appearance today on KrassenCast, in Episode 12, that is now available on iTunes, Youtube. and Google Play

It all started back in April of 2017, after Jared Kushner’s father, Charles Kushner, met with the Qatari finance minister at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City.

“Charles Kushner asked for $1 billion according to someone in that meeting, to whom I have spoken. The Qataris turned Charles Kushner down because the deal was a bad deal,” Ward explained to KrassenCast.

The deal she is talking about was in regards to a building owned by Kushner Properties located at 666 5th Ave. At the time, the company was headed towards a foreclosure of the property as a balloon payment came due in January of 2019. According to some sources, the revenue from the building only covered approximately 50% of the mortgage payment.

Ward then went on to explain the shocking details of what happened next, according to Qatari officials:

“What I have learned is that in the ensuing month [May 2017] before the US visit to Riyadh, Jared Kushner got on a plane and flew to Doha, the Qatari capital, and he reamed the Qatari ruling family, the al-Thanis, for not doing the deal with his father… They began to feel that he was indirectly threatening their sovereignty. The next thing they know, when they show up to the summit in Riyadh, the Emir, the ruler of Qatar, arrives with an entourage, but his entourage is suddenly cut off from him, and not allowed into the summit at the same time by the Saudis, which he felt was a move to deliberately make him look weak. You have to remember during this summit, Jared and Ivanka go off for a cozy secret unmonitored dinner with [Saudi Crown Prince] MBS. Nobody knows what they talked about,” Ward explained to KrassenCast.

Just ten days later, against the advice of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis, the United States supported the Saudi and UAE-led blockade of Qatar. On June 6, 2017 President Trump shockingly supported the blockade of a key US ally in the region, forcing many within his own Administration and the GOP to question the move publicly.

“What the Qataris found was not just a blockade. There were Saudi [and] Emerati troops on their border,” Ward explained to KrassenCast. “What they interpreted this as, was Jared Kushner basically saying, ‘if you don’t pay my father and pay off this building, look what’s going to happen. We’re going to, I’m going to, the Americans are going to sanction an invasion of your country.’ Sources in the State Department say, yes, it’s true; troops were on the border,” Ward continued.

Nine months later, a Canadian company, Brookfield Partners, who the Qatari Investment Authority owns a $1.8 billion or 9% stake in, bailed out Kushner Properties, with a 99-year lease agreement for 666 5th Ave.

“They bail it out in a deal that makes absolutely no economic sense. They do a 99-year lease and they pay the entire 99-year lease up front. You don’t need to be good at math, you don’t need to be in the New York real estate community to understand how crazy that is,” Ward told KrassenCast.

Gov. Mike Huckabee: The Electoral College protects all Americans

These days, being “progressive” means, more than anything else, the urge to constantly look backwards (digging up every bad idea from the past, from socialism to anti-Semitism to non-PC Twitter jokes to measles), Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., is the latest “Progressive” to try to rerun Hillary Clinton’s 2016 election campaign by calling for the elimination of the Electoral College.

Many so-called progressives are still grumbling about Trump’s presidency not being “legitimate” because he didn’t win the popular vote, which is irrelevant (if it had been a popular vote election, both candidates would have run completely different campaigns aimed at turnout.) They seem to have forgotten that Trump is actually the fifth president who took office without winning the popular vote. They say this is an affront to democracy, but America is not a pure democracy. The Founders feared the tyranny of the majority and created a Constitutional Republic for good reason so that any candidate would have to win broad support across the nation, not just in a handful of heavily-populated cities.

Some dismiss this as putting “geography” ahead of people but it’s actually protecting people. People in farming or ranching states shouldn’t be steamrolled by voters 1,000 miles away who have no understanding or concern about their lives and interests. If you want to see what a national popular vote election would be like, ask a conservative farmer in California or Colorado how well he feels his state government represents him now. It's no coincidence rural counties in both states have secessionist movements.

TIME TO TOSS THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE? HERE'S WHY IT'S NOT AS SIMPLE AS 2020 DEMOCRATS WANT IT TO BE

Hillary was done in by a number of factors, not the least of which was her decision to ignore the problems of voters in Rust Belt states. Because of this, they voted for the candidate who actually came and addressed their concerns (Trump), which is exactly as the Founders intended.

Think of it this way: Hillary received 2,833,220 more votes than Trump nationwide. But if you remove from the results California (where Hillary received 4,269,978 more votes than Trump) and New York (where Hillary received 1,736,590 more votes than Trump), then Trump would have won the popular vote by 3,173,348. The Electoral College worked exactly the way it should have in 2016 by preventing two states from imposing their will on the clear preference of the rest of the country, and exactly the way the Founders intended.

Origins and Techniques of Monarch Mind Control

Monarch Programming is a method of mind control used by numerous organizations for covert purposes. It is a continuation of project MK-ULTRA, a mind-control program developed by the CIA, and tested on the military and civilians. The methods are astonishingly sadistic (its entire purpose is to traumatize the victim) and the expected results are horrifying: The creation of a mind-controlled slave who can be triggered at anytime to perform any action required by the handler. While mass media ignores this issue, over 2 million Americans have gone through the horrors of this program. This article looks at the origins of Monarch programming and some of its methods and symbolism.

Reporter Exposes NBC/MSNBC Politics Editor for Advocating on Behalf of Democratic Party

Conservatives have long suspected that mainstream media outlets have become nothing but propaganda wings for the Democrat party.

This isn’t just idle speculation: Whether it was CNN’s Candy Crowley jumping to Barack Obama’s defense during the 2012 debate with Mitt Romney or the same network’s reporter Jim Acosta acting as if he’s more activist than journalist, there are plenty of examples of bias within the media today.

You can add another piece of evidence to the stack. On Friday, a Huffington Post contributing reporter named Yashar Ali relayed a disturbing phone conversation he had with the top editor of NBC / MSNBC politics — and it again raises the question of just how evenhanded today’s media truly is.

“Yesterday, I received a call from (Dafna Linzer) who serves as managing editor of NBC/MSNBC politics,” Ali began. “Dafna’s conduct during the call was highly inappropriate and unethical. So what was the purpose of her call?”

In his view, it had nothing to do with journalism and everything to do with political bias. “She called me to bully me on behalf of the DNC,” Ali claimed.
