The landmark proposal by Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seeks to address climate change and income inequality, but has often been subject of mocking by Republicans, who believe it to be illogical.

Soussan, who frequently tweets in support of President Trump's policies, responded to Ocasio-Cortez, writing: "Hey pipe down. Global temperature fluctuations are caused primarily by solar activity. Do some non governmental funded research. Then you can suggest a way for us to use tax dollars to control the sun."
