Salvini: “My only purpose is to save Europe”

When Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini spoke at a press conference at Lega’s historic headquarters at Via Bellerio 41 in Milan he was radiant with joy. His party tripled its number of votes in the regional elections in Basilicata (in just one year, it grew from 6.2% to 19%).

In a short interview Sputnik News asked Salvini about his predictions for the elections to the European Parliament, about how he and Lega see the fate of Europe, given that, according to the recently presented Confcommercio Report, Italy is the most “Eurosceptical” country, along with the Czech Republic, and is seemingly ready for an “Italexit”.

“Neither I, nor our government, has any plans to leave the European Union, but there is a conviction that it is necessary to change its laws and regulations in order to remain a member of the European community with a sense of self-respect and dignity”, Salvini said.

“Obviously, the reality is stronger than propaganda. You can hang EU flags on the balconies, but what kind of Europe is that?”

“One that with the Bolkestein directive (the Internal Market Directive 2006/123/EC on the laws of the single market) jeopardises 300,000 jobs, and with the European standards for agriculture and fishery – millions of jobs?”

1 killed by ‘Israeli fire’ as Palestinians rally on 1st anniversary of ‘Great March of Return’

A protester is said to have been killed by Israeli troops and more than 10 others wounded as Palestinians stage massive rallies along the Israel-Gaza border – part of the resistance campaign launched exactly one year ago.

A 17-year-old Palestinian died on Saturday after he was shot in the face by the IDF while protesting near the border fence, Gaza health officials said. Overall, 13 people are said to be wounded by Israeli live fire during the rallies.

The authorities in Gaza earlier reported that another protester, 21, was mortally wounded by Israeli troops the night before. The IDF said they were not aware of that incident and attacked a “Hamas military post” in Gaza on Friday, following a “riot” at the border.

They’re also showing solidarity with Genevieve Legay, a 73-year-old anti-globalization activist who suffered a head injury in the southern city of Nice last weekend. The Nice prosecutor said a police officer pushed her down.

Miami-Dade mayor gives Guaido's wife 'key to the county' as US fawns over rebel 'first lady'

Fabiana Rosales, the wife of Venezuela's US-backed opposition leader Juan Guaido, was given the royal treatment by officials in Miami-Dade, who gave the self-proclaimed 'first lady' the key to the county.

As Guaido drums up support for his cause on the ground in Venezuela, he passed the baton of liaising with Washington to his wife, 26-year-old Rosales. Rosales, an activist and journalist who married Guiado in 2013, had already met with US President Donald Trump, VP Mike Pence, and First Lady Melania Trump.

After rubbing shoulders with the bigwigs in Washington, Rosales headed to Florida. On Friday, she again made headlines after she was welcomed by Mayor Carlos Gimenez and local lawmakers at Miami-Dade County Hall.

Arizona Republican Allegedly Paid Two Boys $10 for Sex on Numerous Occasions

A Republican state representative in Arizona abruptly resigned on Wednesday after refusing to cooperate with a state ethics committee. Late Friday, documents released by the committee alleged that Rep. David Stringer paid two children for sex.

According to the Arizona Republic, Stringer was arrested in Baltimore in September 1983. A police report alleged that Stringer met a boy and his friend–both of whom were under the age of 15 at the time–in a park and propositioned them for sex sometime in 1982.

The police report also states that one of the boys Stringer is alleged to have paid for sex with developmentally disabled and that the Arizona Republican “should have reasonably known” about said disability. Additionally, one of the boys was 13-years-old.

“(Name redacted) said that about a year ago he was in Patterson Park with a boy (name redacted) when a man stopped and asked if they wanted to go to his house and have some sex,” the report notes.

Each boy claimed to have both received oral sex from and to have performed oral sex on the long serving Arizona Republican:

They did perform the sex act on Mr. Stringer … After this the boys were given ten dollars ($10.00) a piece and they left.

One of the boys, however, also told police that Stringer had repeatedly requested his presence after the initial encounter–for at least an additional 10 times–in order to perform oral or anal sex.

“(Name redacted) said that he has been back to see Mr. Dave at least 10 additional times since the first time,” the report continues. “He said that each time he has been asked to perform acts of fellatio and sodomy with David Stringer.”

The boy eventually told his father about the encounters–after a visit wherein he and Stringer allegedly had sex and showered together.

Stringer was arrested and charged with eight counts of various sex crimes. The 36-year-old Republican accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to five years of supervised probation. Stringer was “also required to seek admission to what appears to be a treatment clinic for sex offenders,” according to the Republic.

Additional details, however, are scant because the case was expunged and most records were destroyed by judicial order in 1990.

Carmen Chenal is Stringer’s attorney. In comments to the outlet on Friday, she said the police report was based on “unproven allegations.” and chided Arizona State House investigators for inappropriately releasing the records while warning, “this is not over.”

“The allegations … are false and Mr. Stringer denies them all,” Chenal said. “He never committed a crime. He was never convicted.”

The deal was essentially brokered by Hillary and was run through the Clinton Foundation using Canadian-backed contributions as a cover. With one swoop of a pen the bitch sold out the American people and one-fifth of America’s uranium resources to the Russian’s.

Alleged Co-Conspirator Mark Geragos Threatens to Tell All About CNN

Celebrity attorney Mark Geragos raged against CNN and threatened to tell all after the network dropped him in light of his alleged involvement in the Nike extortion plot, the NY Post reported.

“God forbid that I start telling some of the stories for how I’ve covered for that lame-ass organization,” Geragos railed on “The Adam Carolla Show” on Tuesday.

That would be great! Hopefully, he will.

Geragos is accused of conspiring with Michael Avenatti in a scheme to extort over $20 million from Nike. Geragos has not been charged, but Avenatti has been charged with extortion in New York and bank fraud in California on another case.

“They ought to change their name to the ‘Cut and Run Network,’” Geragos told Carolla. “I’ve been texted by all of their anchors who are as outraged as I am that after 20 years, a press conference is enough to have them immediately want to disassociate themselves.”

Avenatti and possibly Geragos allegedly threatened to release damaging information that the sneaker giant paid college basketball players.

They are a couple of wheeler-dealers.

Celebrity attorneys Michael Avenatti and Mark Geragos proposed to federal prosecutors in Brooklyn last week that Avenatti provide them with info in exchange for a “benefit” to Geragos’s client, Seagram’s heiress Clare Bronfman, Judge Garaufis said Thursday.

Clare Bronfman is on trial for a sex slave operation. SSshe was allegedly the money launderer for the cult. When Bronfman was asked if Michael Avenatti was one of her attorneys, she fainted in court. Since then, she has said she fired Avenatti, who was consulting on her case. She then hired Geragos.

Geragos has been named in multiple reports as the unindicted co-conspirator in Avenatti’s Manhattan federal court case.

Avenatti is also charged in Los Angeles with federal bank and wire fraud.

State Department to spend $2 million against “anti-Semitism” abroad

The U.S. State Department is offering to pay up to a million dollars each for two projects “that counter the rise of anti-Semitism” in Europe and Central Asia. The State Department uses a new definition of anti-Semitism that includes criticisms of Israel.

The projects will be funded through two State Department offices: the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor and the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism. The anti-Semitism envoy position was created through 2004 legislation over the objection of the State Department. All four such envoys have been Israel partisans.

The objective of the new projects, according to the announcement of the program, is to address anti-Semitism abroad that is manifested in several ways, including “the use of hateful or inflammatory speech in public discourse, traditional media and online.” The announcement does not specify what language will be considered “hateful or inflammatory speech.” (In the U.S., the First Amendment prohibits the censorship of free speech.)

Special Anti-Semitism Envoy Hannah Rosenthal adopted the new Israel-centric definition of anti-Semitism in 2009. The formulation had been created by Israeli minister Natan Sharansky.

The new projects will “include training law enforcement to adequately and holistically respond to hate crimes from a legal, social, and community perspective; and to better equip police and prosecutors to engage effectively with local Jewish populations.”

The grants will be available to both nonprofit organizations and for-profit, commercial businesses. Organizations winning the grants may be allowed to keep aspects of their identity secret.

The current Anti-Semitism Envoy is Elan Carr, who ran for Congress in 2014 with the promise that he would be “a reliable vote for Israel.” Carr, who was backed by billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, said he visits Israel every year.

Israel to approve 4,500 new settlement units in West Bank

The Israeli government is expected to approve construction of 4,500 new illegal settlement units in the occupied West Bank next week.

According to a report yesterday by the Israeli Broadcasting Authority (IBA), the expected approvals may be postponed until after Israel’s general election – which is slated for 9 April – if an ongoing dispute between the finance and defense ministries is not first resolved.

Approximately 650,000 Jewish settlers currently live on more than 100 settlements in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

International law views the West Bank and East Jerusalem as “occupied territories” and considers all Jewish settlement-building activity there illegal.

The Palestinians, for their part, want both these territories – along with the besieged Gaza Strip – for the establishment of any future Palestinian state.

‘Defeated ISIS’ Carries Out New Deadly Attacks Against US-Backed Forces

The ISIS-linked news agency, Amaq, announced on March 29 that the terrorist group’s cells had killed six fighters of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and injured three others in two separate attacks in the Middle Euphrates River Valley.

In the first attack, the terrorist group’s operatives targeted a vehicle of the SDF near the town of Diban with a remote-controlled improvised-explosive device (IED). Later, terrorists opened fire at a second vehicle of US-backed forces while it was passing through the same area.

The SDF, which announced the total defeat of ISIS in Syria earlier this month, is still carrying out security operations against ISIS cells in its areas. The group’s security forces, commonly known as Asayish, carried out several such operations in northeastern Aleppo and Deir Ezzor on March 29.

Despite all of these measures, ISIS cells are still operating freely in the SDF-held territory in northeastern Syria. A recent report of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) revealed that 266 SDF fighters and civilians have been killed by the terrorist group’s operatives since last August.

The security situation in northeastern Syria will not likely improve soon, as the SDF and its main backer, the US-led coalition, appeared to be not taking active steps to contain the growing ISIS threat.

Trump says may discuss Venezuela with Putin soon

US national security adviser John Bolton earlier said Trump was set to talk with Putin by phone soon

WASHINGTON, March 30. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump said he may discuss the situation in Venezuela with Russian President Vladimir Putin soon, Reuters reported on Saturday.

"We will probably be talking at some point," the US leader told reporters at his estate in Florida. "I’ll be talking to a lot of people - perhaps President Putin, perhaps President Xi of China."

US national security adviser John Bolton said on Friday that Trump was set to talk with Putin by phone soon. He also said his country viewed the deployment of other states’ troops in Venezuela as a threat to the region.

El Comercio earlier reported the arrival of An-124 and Il-62 planes to Caracas Airport on March 23, carrying Russian servicemen and 35 tonnes of cargo on board. Venezuelan President of the Constituent Assembly Diosdado Cabello later confirmed the information.

In a comment released on March 26, Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that experts from Russia arrived in Venezuela in strict compliance with the country’s constitution and the bilateral intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation signed in May 2001 and duly ratified by both states.

The political crisis in Venezuela intensified after Venezuelan parliament speaker Juan Guaido, whose appointment to that position had been cancelled by the country’s Supreme Court, declared himself interim president at a rally in the country’s capital of Caracas on January 23. The United States is among the nations who recognized Guaido, while Russia is among those who vowed support to Maduro.
