Nope. It's pretty much selective socialism, and that isn't a bad thing either, it's just the definition. We are a mixed economy. Capitalism and Socialism mixed together is how we operate.

The military is publicly owned and paid for. By definition, it is socialist in nature.

Yes it serves the US republic, but it is taxpayer funded. By definition this makes the structure of it a 100% socialist program.

Food is paid for, housing is paid for, education is paid for. Do you own the tanks? Do you own the weapons given to you? How about the NVG's, do you own those?

No, of course you don't, because they are tax payer funded. This by definition makes it a socialist structured organization.

AND THAT ISN'T A BAD THING EITHER! The proof is in the pudding, it obviously works, and really fucking well at that.

I'm not trying do drive a wedge in between anything, I love our military. I'm just trying to explain to you that the word socialism, which applies to our military because it is completely tax payer funded, is not as bad of a word as people make it out to be. People read socialism and immediately lose their mind without realizing our military is a socialist organization. It thrives BECAUSE it is a socialist organization. The definition of socialism got completely mangled and rebranded to fear monger and confuse. Like I said, just look at the effectiveness of our military. That effectiveness simply wouldn't be possible without the US taxpayer.

the ledditor mods over at /r/the_watch have been losing their mind over Q and anti-semitism/anti-Zionism the last few days. Been pretty funny to watch. Talk about completely outing yourself. They just never learn.

Of course we will never be a socialist country ever, that is a good thing. I'm talking about the institution of the military. It is tax payer funded.

According to Merriam Webster, Socialism is "a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies". This says nothing about economic or political agendas.

People read 'socialism' and immediately react negatively without considering what it even means. Because the military is a socialist institution is why it is so successful.

Every salary of every soldier in the military is paid for by the people. Every piece of equipment used and uniform they wear is paid for by the public. Even the healthcare they get is socialized medicine.

It's not a bad thing. It's good. I would never want the country to be a socialist institution, it would be a total failureโ€ฆ but for our military? absolutely, it is that important and requires that level of funding/unity.

That chain of command wouldn't exist without the taxpayer. The chain of command relies on the funding of the taxpayer, whether they agree to it or not. I don't know of a more simple way to put it.

Govt funded military is good, because the military is necessary, important an a vital function to our safety.

Govt funded anything else is usually a one way ticket to failure with few exceptions.
