Former Major League Pitcher John Wetteland Indicted for Child Sex Abuse

John Wetteland, a one-time World Series MVP, has been indicted on child sex abuse charges in Texas, according to reports.

Wetteland was hit with three charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 in Denton, Texas, on March 28, USA Today reported.

The former New York Yankee is accused of cajoling a relative into performing sex acts on him beginning in 2004 when the victim was four years old. The indictment claims Wetteland repeated the treatment of the child on three occasions over two years.

Wetteland won a World Series championship and was awarded MVP as a New York Yankee in 1996. He was a three-time All-Star and closed his career as the Texas Rangers’ all-time saves leader with 150. He was inducted into the Rangers hall of fame in 2005. Wetteland also played for Montreal and the Dodgers.

The 52-year-old was arrested in January on suspicion of child sex abuse and released on a $25,000 bond.

A man was slashed outside a roller-skating rink in San Francisco by a sword-wielding attacker reportedly wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that police were called after a man was slashed in the hand with a sword and left outside the roller-rink bleeding.

Police told the Chronicle that the alleged attacker fled. Police were speaking to witnesses and attempting to review security video from the scene.

Police said the victim, whose name was not released, was attacked by a man allegedly seen wearing the signature hat from President Trump’s campaign.

The incident reportedly started with a verbal altercation before the victim tried to grab the hat off the attacker’s head. The man then reportedly grabbed a sword and slashed him in the hand, San Francisco police spokesman Robert Rueca told the local news outlet.

Scott Sweeney, a witness to the incident, told the Chronicle he recognized the alleged attacker wearing the red “MAGA” hat and heard him yelling homophobic slurs at the victim.

David Miles, owner of the Church of 8 Wheels roller-rink, posted a picture on Facebook showing the iconic red hat next to a pool of blood outside the establishment that garnered attention over the weekend.
