Trump Campaign Focuses on Exposing Socialism

President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign will focus on exposing a dramatic shift toward socialism among the Democratic candidates while spotlighting the successes of the president’s administration, Kayleigh McEnany, press secretary for the Trump 2020 campaign, told The Epoch Times. McEnany said it would have been unimaginable a decade ago for Democrats, including former President Barack Obama, to push for the radical proposals embraced by every major Democratic contender for the 2020 election. “Every single member of the 2020 Democratic field will emerge with the scourge of socialism attached to them. They all want government takeover of health care, of energy, and with the Green New Deal. They want these radical proposals,”she said.

According to McEnany, the campaign didn’t plan to take on socialism, but is making the adjustment given that the majority of the Democratic field has embraced the ideology. “We thought that debate ended in the 1980s. We thought it ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union, but here we are today with Democrats wanting to take us the way of Venezuela,” she said. “So we’re all very keenly focused on socialism—every single one of us in the campaign.”

Of the eight Democratic presidential candidates who have officially declared their intention to run and are polling at 1 percent or more, seven support the socialist Medicare for All and Green New Deal policies. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) is the exception among them, although even she has co-sponsored the Medicare for All bill and views the Green New Deal as a key long-term goal. “We’re going to expose it,” McEnany said. “You know, the facts don’t lie. Bernie Sanders back in 2013 and back when he was proposing legislation on single-payer health care, he had zero cosponsors. Now he has virtually the entirety of the Democratic field. “Same for free college and all of these socialists proposals that would cost our economy tens of trillions of dollars, raise everyone’s taxes, completely explode our debt. “This is socialism—it’s wrecked economies, it’s destroyed personal freedoms, and now it’s amazing to me that on a Democratic debate stage you are going to hear the word socialism.”

Only 18 percent of Americans view socialism in a positive light. While polling data for Medicare for All suggests that Americans support it, the approval rating drops significantly when the policy is described as “socialized medicine” or if respondents learn that the policy will result in tax increases and the elimination of private health insurance. Support for socialism is highest among the younger voters. McEnany believes this is because the millennial generation was excluded from the economy during the Obama years.

“My peers—I’m a millennial—my peers couldn’t find jobs, they couldn’t find well-paying jobs, certainly couldn’t find a use for their college degrees,” McEnany said, adding that the trend is changing under Trump. “Finally what we’re seeing is that millennials are having access to the job market, finding jobs, being able to leave their parents’ homes, being able to no longer delay life decisions like marriage and having kids,” she said. “So millennials had it tough. And now, finally, they’re getting opportunity thanks to President Trump.” The campaign will take the message of the administration’s success to the social media platforms where millennials spend much of their time, including Facebook and Twitter. “We do think that some millennials will come around and say, ‘Hey, yeah, I’m way better off today than I was four years ago. And that means I’ve got to vote for President Trump,'” McEnany said.

Celebrity Jeweler Who Gifted Elon Musk $40,000 Ring Winds Up 'Locked Inside His F*cking Tesla'

People become Tesla skeptics in many different ways. Some are investors that take a hard look at the company's financials. Others witness Tesla accidents or wind up getting a glimpse into the company by working there. And some - like celebrity jeweler Ben Baller - wind up locked in their Tesla vehicles, trapped, with no way to get out. "I wish this was a fucking joke," Baller says in his recent Instagram story video, mirrored on one Twitter user's account. "I'm locked inside my fucking Tesla. I know I've been the Tesla fan, I've said so many good things about Tesla. But I've been locked in the car now for 37 minutes fucking waiting for roadside assistance. " He continued: "The electronic door - the door is handled by the push button or the key or opening the door handle - and nothing's fucking working.

Baller had made headlines back in December 2018 when he gifted Elon Musk a custom $40,000 Tesla ring. Three months later, the man who wrote to Musk on Instagram, calling him "an inspiration" and thanking Musk for "what [he's] done for Americans", found himself locked inside his Tesla with no way out.

"This ring was designed and created here in America, just like your cars. We salute you for giving 50,000 jobs to Americans and putting USA back on the map as a serious contender in the auto industry,” Baller said in December, likely unaware that several rounds of crushing job cuts and layoffs were forthcoming at Tesla.

According to NextShark, Baller used a trillion cut diamond to emphasize the “T” logo on the front of the ring, which he surrounded by round brilliant white diamonds and rubies which were pavé set by hand. On the back of the ring, custom cut diamond baguettes spell out “Tesla.”

Solomon: There Should Be 'In-Depth Interviews' With Obama, Clinton About FISA Warrant, Dossier

In an interview with Mark Levin on "Life, Liberty & Levin" airing Sunday at 10 PM ET, journalists John Solomon and Sara A. Carter reacted to the close of the Mueller investigation and what should happen next. Levin asked Solomon what President Obama knew during the time his Justice Department was seeking a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance warrant to spy on Carter Page, a member of the Trump campaign team. Levin, who was the deputy attorney general to Reagan's top lawman Edwin Meese, said that if such an occasion presented itself in the 1980s, Meese would have "taken a car right over to the president to fill him in."

"Is Barack Obama the only human being on the planet who didn't know anything [about the warrant to spy]?" Levin asked. Solomon said Obama needs to be formally interviewed by the feds on what he knew and when he knew it. "Why wasn't [Obama] interested in Russian collusion before the election but [was interested] after the election?" he asked.

Solomon said Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) should also be interviewed to see how much she knew about the contact between former Wall Street Journal reporter Glenn Simpson and ex-MI6 spy Christopher Steele. Simpson, who worked at the time for opposition research firm Fusion GPS, reportedly worked with Steele to compile the disputed "Trump dossier." Carter added that Obama's United Nations ambassador, Samantha Power, is not often mentioned in regard to the collusion case, but that the Ireland native should be asked why she "unmasked" hundreds of individuals during her tenure.

Trump says he is 'saving' Barrett for Ginsburg seat: Axios

President Trump has reportedly said he is "saving" Judge Amy Barrett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit to replace Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court, according to Axios. Barrett was a popular choice among conservative activists as a candidate to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy before Trump eventually nominated Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Axios reported that Trump has made clear his desire to replace Ginsburg with Barrett since Kennedy’s decision to retire, telling people on separate occasions, "I'm saving her for Ginsburg. Trump also opted against nominating Barrett over concerns that her opposition to abortion rights would lead Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) to vote against her, according to the news outlet. Aides were reportedly confident enough Republicans would gain Senate seats in the 2018 midterms that they decided a more conservative nominee would stand a better chance of confirmation after the elections. Ginsburg, 86, recently returned to the bench after missing a series of cases in January because of cancer surgery last December. The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment.

Lawsuit alleges California hospital secretly recorded hundreds of women's appointments

A lawsuit filed in California alleges a women’s health center secretly recorded appointments of more than 1,800 patients using hidden cameras. The lawsuit claims the Sharp Grossmont Hospital in El Cajon, Calif., secretly recorded female patients inside three labor and delivery operating rooms, according to local outlet KGTV. Plaintiffs allege operations secretly recorded on the hidden video cameras include caesarean births, hysterectomies, sterilizations and other procedures. Additionally, the lawsuit alleges the women were recorded as they undressed. "At times, Defendants’ patients had their most sensitive genital areas visible," the lawsuit reportedly states. Filed Friday afternoon, the lawsuit claims the secret recordings took place from July 2012 through June 2013.

The hospital claims in the court documents that the recordings were part of an investigation "into whether an employee was stealing the anesthesia drug propofol from drug carts in the operating rooms," according to the local news outlet. Motion-activated cameras were reportedly installed on drug carts in the operating rooms, but the lawsuit states the cameras continued to record even after motion had ceased. Several hospital staff members, including nonmedical personnel, were able to access the recordings through desktop computers. Additionally, the lawsuit alleges the hospital did not keep track of "who accessed the recordings, why, or when."

Sharp HealthCare, which is also named in the lawsuit, told the local news outlet in a statement that the hospital "installed and operated one hidden camera on the anesthesia cart located in each of three operating rooms in the Women’s Center." "The purpose of the three cameras was to ensure patient safety by determining the cause of drugs missing from the carts," the statement read, adding that officials would not comment further on the matter, citing the pending lawsuit.
