I'm thinking that REX is half-right here.
First, keep in mind that Mueller's team had to get the data from somewhere (NSA). I agree with REX that the 2-hops allowed NSA to pry into all kinds of info. However, NoSuch was not under any obligation to provide data from the surveillance that led to any non-POTUS parties subjected to having their info hoovered up. And, ironically, the FISA warrant also allowed them to withhold non-POTUS party information to the originator of the FISA under NatSec. Additionally, NoSuch has the capability to "wash" the docs produced to leave no-telltales of non-POTUS communications being part of the "take".
Second, no way that Mueller's team of uber-Clinton goon lawyers aren't going to leak like a sieve to Obama, Clinton and everyone else tied up in their scheme. Word would have leaked (I'm sure they've already concluded that their comms were "owned") about enough specifics that their course of action would be different than it is right now.
However, the Page FISA does open the door…
My 2 cents. Adjusted for inflation, it's worth diddly shit. But there it is.
