Technical malfunction grounds flights of several airlines

Several airlines are experiencing delays after being forced to ground flights following a technical issues with a third-party vendor. Delta, Southwest, JetBlue, and American Airlines all say that AeroData, which provides airlines with the data used in flight planning, was malfunctioning and causing several flight groundings and delays.

AeroData provides weight and balance software that airlines use to determine flight plans and make fuel calculations, among other functions. According to data from FlightAware, 1,798 flights within, into, or out of the United States have been delayed so far Monday. It is not immediately clear if the delays all stem from the technical issues with AeroData, but is a higher than usual amount of delays for morning. It appears that the flight groundings were short-lived and that the technical issues have been resolved. "The service is back on line a few minutes ago and delays should be minimal," Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Greg Martin told CNN Monday morning.

Exclusive– Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna Calls for Bipartisan Coalition to Work with Trump on Ending Foreign Wars: ‘I Think We’re All on the Same Team’ As Americans

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), a progressive Democrat who is the co-chairman of the 2020 Democrat presidential campaign for Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that he hopes a bipartisan coalition comes together to work with President Donald Trump to end a number of wars and U.S. military conflicts worldwide.

Ro Khanna argued that if the United States stops its backing of Saudi Arabia in Yemen’s civil war, finally ends the war in Afghanistan, withdraws troops from Syria once and for all, resists temptations by some to get militarily involved in Venezuela, and completes successful peace negotiations with North Korea, then the United States could better invest resources wasted abroad into rebuilding America’s infrastructure. “Here’s my message: We probably all agree that our primary responsibility is to make sure that America and our values lead the 21st century,” Khanna said when asked what his message is to the millions of Trump supporters who read Breitbart News, people who may find it odd that a Democrat is open to working with Trump on at least some things.

In the hyper-partisan era that is the Trump administration, Khanna has emerged as a unique voice in the Democrat Party. While he is certainly a progressive Democrat and harsh critic of the president and his administration on many things, he is also someone who is willing to work with Trump in places where he agrees with the president — particularly on ending wars he, like many in the grassroots of both sides of the aisle, view as endless. Khanna definitely has credibility on both sides of the aisle and is able to work seamlessly with voices as diverse as House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) and newly elected socialist firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). In fact, the night before this interview with Breitbart News a little over a week ago, Ocasio-Cortez praised Khanna on her Twitter account — a tweet highlighted by 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton.

But then in this interview less than a day after those Ocasio-Cortez and Clinton tweets, Khanna repeatedly cited efforts to work with both sides of the aisle including with President Trump and his administration, as well as the president’s top allies like Meadows and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) among others. Khanna even pitched meeting with Trump alongside others like Meadows and Paul as part of a bipartisan coalition to get the U.S. out of unnecessary foreign entanglements.

Khanna says the reason why he is working with people on both sides of the aisle on this issue — and doing interviews like this one with outlets like Breitbart News — is because he senses a growing nonpartisan sentiment, even in Congress, where people are sick of the wars. “There is a wariness of interventionism and militarism overseas in the Congress,” Khanna told Breitbart News. “You have very thoughtful critics of this on both the Republican and Democratic side. There are people like Mark Meadows who have spoken out about the need for congressional authorization before we get into another intervention. He’s been very helpful in our efforts on Yemen, and of course there’s people like Rand Paul.”

The primary effort that Khanna is leading in the House is a battle to end the U.S. backing of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen’s civil war. The U.S. action started under former President Barack Obama’s administration, without congressional authorization, and continued under President Trump’s administration. The U.S. was refueling Saudi bomber jets — until the Trump administration stopped that, at least for now, under public pressure — and also has been providing targeting assistance to Saudi Arabia’s air force.

Report: Gang Stole BILLIONS from UK Taxpayers, Infiltrated Govt, Funded al-Qaeda and Labour

A vast network of British Asian gang members linked to Abu Hamza and the 7/7 bombers infiltrated government agencies, defrauded taxpayers of billions of pounds, and funnelled tens of millions to Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda over 20 years, an investigation claims to have found.

The report suggests that, through a complex series of tactics, including exploitation of illegal immigration, benefits fraud, VAT fraud, and mortgage fraud, the gang managed to steal an astonishing £8 billion. These funds were allegedly used to provide lavish lifestyles for the gang’s members, including luxury cars and properties — but also helped bankroll Osama bin Laden’s notorious al-Qaeda network, claims a Sunday Times investigation. It is believed that £80 million was sent to the jihadists to help them fund their radical Islamic terrorist activities, with a source claiming that “MI5 had information that the ultimate destination for some of the money was Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad.” The report indicated that investigators had found “20 potential internal fraud cases including (gang) members in government agencies” in one company alone, and that “infiltration was widespread”

The level of infiltration may have run throughout Government, with an internal report by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) claiming that “There are numerous [gang] members involved in think tanks and business forums which bring them into contact with senior British politicians.” “I myself have seen one member shoulder to shoulder with Tony Blair on at least two occasions following the war in Iraq,” the writer added — although the Sunday Times notes that there is “no suggestion that Blair was aware of the alleged crimes.

It is claimed that “thousands” of pounds were donated to the then-governing Labour Party by the gang. The gang members are also believed to have associated with hate preacher Abu Hamza and Shehzad Tanweer, one of the 7/7 bombers. Reports of suspicious activities and fraud were reportedly documented multiple times by HMRC, with at least four HMRC officers imploring their bosses to take action. However the issues were allegedly not pursued, “due to their complicated nature and a lack of resources”. One investigator was said to have been ready to meet with the security services but prevented from doing so by his superiors, as HMRC didn’t want to breach the tax confidentiality of the terror suspects, and the reports suggest it was not until after the 7/7 bombings that senior HMRC officials decided to take action. HMRC insisted it “can, has always, and does” pass information to security agencies, regardless of any confidentiality issues, in comments to MailOnline.

Report: Michael Avenatti Stiffed Paraplegic Man out of $4 Million Settlement

Embattled lawyer Michael Avenatti reportedly stiffed a paraplegic man with mental health problems out of $4 million personal injury settlement, a former partner of the “resistance” hero told a southern Californa courtroom on Friday.

The allegation emerged as part of a federal court hearing for the case of Avenatti’s former legal partner Jason Frank, who won a court judgment ordering Avenatti to fork over Frank $10 million in unpaid profits from their now-defunct law firm Eagan Avenatti. Frank had initially settled with Avenatti for $4.85 million in December 2017, but a judge hiked the judgment to $10 million after Avenatti failed to make the first payment, prompting the firm to seek bankruptcy proceedings.

The hearing at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California comes after Avenatti, best known for representing pornographic actress Stormy Daniels in lawsuits against President Donald Trump, was arrested in New York last Monday on charges that included attempting to extort Nike for as much as $25 million with threats of negative publicity. Avenatti was also charged with bank fraud and embezzling his clients’ money to pay his own towering expenses in separate cases in New York and California. He was taken into police custody shortly before tweeting plans to hold a revealing press conference Tuesday to “disclose a major high school/college basketball scandal perpetrated by @Nike that we have uncovered.”

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman said of the case: “When lawyers use their law licenses as weapons, as a guise to extort payments for themselves, they are no longer acting as attorneys. They are acting as criminals.”

After his arrest, Avenatti posted a $300,000 bond and was released from a New York court, where he did not enter a plea. “As all of you know, for the entirety of my career I have fought against the powerful. Powerful people and powerful corporations. I will never stop fighting that good fight,” the embattled lawyer said outside the courthouse. “I am highly confident that when all the evidence is laid bare in connection with these cases, when it is all known, when due process occurs, that I will be fully exonerated and justice will be done.” Several reports state celebrity attorney and now-fired CNN legal analyst Mark Geragos is an unnamed co-conspirator in Avenatti’s Nike scheme, but he has not been indicted.
