Today AOC talked about 7$ croissants at the airport, comparing it to the need for a 15$ min wage.

Seven dollars a piece!' AOC faces criticism for tweeting about the price of croissants at LaGuardia Airport and comparing it to the minimum wage.

I have not seen anyone bring up this point.

Shops in the airport are just like shops/stalls they have at an amusement park or fair.

Similar to the price of candy at the movie theatre.

They charge outrageous unrealistic prices because they have people somewhat trapped, and they have no choice.

If you are at 6 flags or Disney world, you have to pay the prices they want for food and drink.

It is part of what makes them so expensive that alot of proor and working class people can not even afford to go to.

Things like funnel cakes for $8, or $5 plus for a soda.

Like with Croissants you can buy a package of them at the grocery store for a couple of bucks.

The real price of them is not reflected at places like airports.

People who would freak out over the price of a croissant are not going to be at the airport, because they are too poor to even travel by plane.

The prices are that way to gouge people who get stuck with delayed flights/weather.YOur stuck in the airport, and have no choice but to but that overpriced croissant. Also to maximize their profits. They do have more expensive rents inside airports.

So for her to use the price of an item that everyone knows is more expensive than normal due to location, and lack of choice is ridiculous.

This has no corrolation with min wage.

Also if you raise it, then they will raise their prices, so it would be $10 croissants.

I'm surprised she did not use the price of candy at movie theatre or amusement park,

Thats why you buy candy at the grocery store for normal price and bring in your pocket/purse and pull out once movie starts.kek

Can't do that at airport, because they do not allow food items/liquids etc.

Some amusement parks/fairs do let you bring a cooler. But they have restricted or not allowed them at some places( so people are forced to buy their overpriced food)
