On November 4th, 2014, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was released. In the opening scene from the game's second mission, the protagonist Private Jack Mitchell attends the funeral of his best friend who died fighting in South Korea. The player is then asked to “Press F to Pay Respects” if they are playing the game on a PC, or to press the "X" button while playing on a console (shown below).

sry. forgot this part. takes some of the 'fucked up' off of it.

Press F (X) to Pay Respects is an action prompt featured in a quick time event from the 2014 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Upon the release of the game in November 2014, many players of the game mocked the funeral cutscene for its forced element of interactivity that seemed out-of-place at a memorial service.

The best way I've heard pensions explained for the younger crowd…

Think of pensions as a Loyalty Reward program.

You earn points by spending time at work.

Your employer appreciates that (this is the one they will NEVER understand).

As a reward you can redeem your points for a paycheck that you don't have to work for.

Appreciated

You were a valuable investment for the company you worked for.

Medical, retirement, vacation, etc., all paid for by that company.

You were taken care of for your efforts.

Now

Just numbers.

It's cheaper to churn and burn.

Get em in, abuse them with menial tasks, toss em out

They don't have to offer Med/retirement/etc

I can rant on, but won't
