Seen this before, all the way back to 2013, don't sweat it
Not sure if this is Ops Normal for Pacific Fleet but USN seems mighty interested in San Clemente Island. There were 7 tracks, two have stopped reporting via AIS. Planefags have any birdies up around there that would point to anti-air drills?
Possible lily pad ops. Most appreciated!
Looking at 3 DDGs with possible fourth, an amphib, and a T-AO type. Might be lily pad, might be training ASW controllers with a dipping helo, not sure.
At this stage may be no more than an amphib ready group doing work-ups so for now I'll keep the sweat pumps at idle and keep eyes on.
Most I'd gotten before tonight was an LCS doing doughnuts off Tijuana and then what seems to be a pre-comm bouncing between San Diego and Pearl Harbor. Hoping pre-comm, sucker reports as an MMSI id but four different maritime tracking sites have no info on what type she is, just some port call listings of SD and PH. I'll try to find more on that Spruance-class later that converted to a testing ship and see if I can fit the id
Kinda sorta almost maybe
