on no recording of abraham taking books, i agree. it is an interpretation of various overlaps in the genesis text with many texts found in the last 100 or so years at ancient sumerian sites. we do also know from the bible that abraham was wealthy and powerful. he was know to pharoah and to melchizedek (king of salem - likely salem is jerusalem), who came out of his stronghold into the open and served abraham bread and wine. further, clay tablets were in common use for both record keeping and transmission of knowledge. so i feel pretty fucking okay with an interpretation that says abraham took some literature with him when he vacated ur.
