Trump Returns to L.A. This Week to Fundraise for 2020
While he’s quick to criticize “Hollywood liberals,” Donald Trump nonetheless likes to visit when he’s out sniffing around for campaign cash. In town for an April 5 fundraiser with high-dollar donors, the visit marks the president’s third appearance in L.A. since taking office.
Tickets for the event start at $15,000. A $50,000 contribution includes a photo op with Trump. At $150,000, donors can “participate in a roundtable discussion,” NBC Los Angeles reports.
The location of the fundraiser has not yet been released publicly, though some have speculated it will be in Beverly Hills. Trump owns a home there, and staged a fundraiser at a private location in the tony neighborhood last year.
Trump’s fundraiser in L.A. comes right on the heels of campaign stops by candidates vying to be his Democratic challenger. Insurgent candidate Pete Buttigieg was in town last weekend, appearing at several events, taping a television appearance, and wooing potential donors amongst the entertainment industry set. Kamala Harris also staged a fundraiser for some 250 supporters that raked in $70,000, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
