sorry for not answering right away. As someone who has been doing graphics for a few decades my first instinct is that the picture is shopped because the shadows don't add up i.e. make not sense. That is usually the first indicator. While the shadows on the ship don't make sense either, this is not a book the ship rests on but a piece of wood. Looking specifically at the shadows on Snowden's face 2 things show up: 1) the shadows on his face don't fit the setting because the light comes from the front and not from the left as it appears on the other person's face. 2) look at the shadowing on Snowden's neck. There is a clear line.

Another thing that is troubling is that Snowden's body and posture doesn't seems to be his. Focus on the belt buckle. You see the belt is loose. My take is that the person on this pic has a bit of belly.

From all the above, my take of this pic: Snowden's head was put on from another pic. Find that pic and you have your 100% proof.

The boat is probably the real message of this picture.

I could think of many more things to say about this but better get back to work before my clients get really upset at me. Kek
