Ephesian

s 2:8-9 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and [a]that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Grace is undeserved favor or gift. It is very clear. Mercy is more well he is my brother in law I will show mercy so I don't have problems at Thanks giving. It is human. I am simply quoting scripture.

For by Grace you have been saved, it doesn't say mercy

Brother if you feel uncomfortable. Then it is time for me to stop. We are here to reason together. The Gospel is all that matters. We all grow at different speeds and we are all taught by the Holy Spirit for the "good works I have prepared before hand that you might walk in them". My views on things have changed over time as God worked in my life. I wish you all the best and pray that God gets you a place that you are comfortable with what he says. My words of wisdom are this GOD is huge and beyond our understanding. Faith is trust in God. Somethings for us might not be clear until heaven. I never let this stuff ruin a friendship. It is my understanding of the word but if you differ that is totally between you and Him. Blessing to you truly!

Grace is a gift from Heavenly Father given through His Son, Jesus Christ. The word grace, as used in the scriptures, refers primarily to enabling power and spiritual healing offered through the mercy and love of Jesus Christ. … The grace of God helps us every day.

What is the difference between mercy and grace?

Mercy and grace are two vital Christian terms whose meanings are often misunderstood. In short, mercy is God not giving us what we do deserve; grace is God giving us something we do not deserve.

Mercy is God holding off his Holy judgement and His Holy anger.
