LEGALLY, THE UK LEFT THE EU ON 29th MARCH - OR DID THEY?
Robin Tilbrook, the chairman of "The English Democrats," has made the legal claim that without an Act of Parliament any extension or revocation of Article 50 cannot take place. Therefore, the UK in fact left the EU at 11pm on 29th March 2019.
Following a letter sent by HM Government in response to this claim, Mr Tilbrook states that, "They have more or less admitted it." He says that the Government will now attempt to argue that International Law trumps UK Law but he will now seek to prove that this is not actually true.
Mr Tilbrook says that the role of the court in this process is to declare that we are already out of the EU and he is confident this will be achieved. He has launched a legal challenge to the UK Govt Brexit Extension Date which is now with the High Court and he awaits a hearing date which he expects in the next 2 weeks.
