A portion of POTUS' meeting with senior military leaders
POTUS is sat at the cabinet table flanked by General Dunford and Acting Secretary Shanahan.
He started off by lauding progress on expanding military funding and the fight against ISIS. “These are incredible warriors. Incredible fighters.”
He dismissed reports of an arrest at Mar-a-Lago of a Chinese national and said he was not concerned with espionage efforts there.
“I saw the story. I haven’t spoken to anyone,” he said. “We have extremely good control.”
“The person at the front desk did a very good job, to be honest with you.”
Asked whether he knows Cindy Yang, who was pictured with POTUS and the subject of several recent reports, he asked, “who is that?”
POTUS also said he is “not inclined” to adhere to a demand by House Ways and Means that he release six years of tax returns.
Finally, he said former Vice President Biden is capable of deciding whether to run for president himself, and offered no comment on recent reports on him.
“I wish him luck,” he said.
