I was watching Tucker, and they are talking about colleges removing stutues associated with Jefferson and Washington.

They do not want the name the washington colonials.

America started out as colonies. People consider the 1700's as colonial times/era.

The clothing styles of the day, the building styles, etc.

We were colonies, until we sought our Freedom from the england.

The Name colonies in terms of the team the washington colonials is about that time period in OUR history, our colonies that fought for independence from a king who lived on another continent.

Then you have the colonies England and france started in many other countries like India and islands, etc.

All the people who were in the colonies in America were of english heritage/ emigrated from england.

The colonies that England had in india( were small groups of english people trying to enslave the local populations and take as much natural resources as possible.

( which they did as well in America , until we stood up to them)

Because the people in our colonies, stood up and fought for their freedom.

They were more strict/cruel in their other colonies after America's independence. Because they did not want people revolting in their other colonies .

They only used those countries for natural resources/trading and had no interest in settling large numbers of english people there.

The English went to India to trade and rule, but not to settle, an attitude which increased the distance between the rulers and the ruled. By modern standards, British rule in India lasted a long time: nearly 200 years. The endurance of British rule was remarkable given the physical size of the country.

America's relationship with the word Colony, is far different than other countries association with it.

Our colonies sought freedom.

People in India did nothing for 200 years. ( because the british payed indian people to betray their own people).
