Senate Intel Chairman Richard Burr Delays Release of Senate Intel Russia Report Until August

Senate Intel Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) said this week that his panel won’t be releasing its ‘Trump-Russia’ investigation report until August.

Senator Burr told reporters in Durham that his committee still has “several individuals” left to interview and that the final report will take 60 days to write and another 60 days to redact and declassify.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller already concluded that Trump’s campaign did not conspire with the Kremlin during the 2016 presidential election, yet Burr is still dragging out his investigation.

“I’d like to have the report out publicly before we leave in August. I’m on that timeline. I haven’t hit timelines in the past and, since we’re not finished, I can’t anticipate the date,” Burr said during a press briefing at Duke University this week.

News and Observer reported:

“Two people can read facts and possibly come to a different conclusion,” he said. “I think when we get through with our report, there won’t be any room for anybody to make these wild accusations about collusion.”

“If you take the Special Counsel’s conclusion — which is that there was no collusion that they could find evidence of between the campaign and Russians — it will probably be pretty consistent with the report we come out with,” he said.

Burr emphasized that his committee’s probe looks beyond the 2016 election into a vast, complicated effort by Russia to raise political tensions in the United States.

“One of the early determinations we made is that Russia manipulated the 2016 election using social media to create societal chaos in the United States,” he said. “They didn’t fabricate issues. They used existing splits in society in the United States and tried to highlight those splits.”

The highly corrupt Senate Intel Committee has wasted over two years and precious resources investigating a non-crime.

After two years of investigating, Senate Intel Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) told CBS in February that “based on evidence” his committee has seen there is nothing to suggest Trump’s campaign colluded with the Russians during the 2016 election.

Senator Burr previously said, “If we write a report based upon the facts that we have, then we don’t have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia.”

“If I can finish tomorrow, I would finish tomorrow,” Burr said, adding, “We know we’re getting to the bottom of the barrel because there’re not new questions that we’re searching for answers to.”

The Senate Select Committee has been coordinating with Robert Mueller’s team and their previous interview with Michael Cohen led to his indictment and prison time.

The Senate Intel Panel has interviewed over 200 witnesses and poured over hundreds of thousands of documents as part of their investigation into whether Trump’s camp colluded with Russia — the investigation started over two years ago in January of 2017.

Now Burr is dragging out the release of his committee’s Russia report until late summer — how convenient.

Trump Punts On Border Closure, Gives Mexico A Year To Stop Flow Of Drugs & Immigrants Into US

resident Trump has punted on his plans for closing the southern border, telling a group of reporters on Thursday that he will give Mexico a year to stop the flow of migrants and drugs into the US. If they fail on either count, Trump will either slap tariffs on Mexican-made cars or close the border entirely.

"You know I will do it. I don’t play games…so we’re doing it to stop people. We’re gonna give them a one year warning, and if the drugs don’t stop, or largely stop, we’re going to put tariffs on Mexico and products, in particular cars. The whole ballgame is cars….and if that doesn’t stop the drugs, we close the border."

It was unclear whether an agreement with Congressional Democrats would also be a condition for the border closure, after Trump said Tuesday that Congress needed to get rid of chain migration, catch and release and the visa lottery and "do something about asylum" or he would still consider closing the border. "If Mexico doesn't or we don't make a deal with Congress, the border will be closed."

TRUTH: Rep. Gohmert DESTROYS Nadler and Democrat Hacks: The Only Thing Orwell Got Wrong Was the Year!

Rep. Louie Gohmert LIT UP Judiciary Chairman Nadler on Wednesday over the Democrat attempt to release the full Mueller Report.

Democrats are still searching for the elusive Holy Grail of Trump collusion with Russia.

They are looking in the wrong direction.

More American voters today believe Crooked Hillary colluded with foreign operatives than Trump did.

Louie Gohmert popped their collusion balloon on Wednesday.

Rep. Louie Gohmert: What has gone on in this country, did absolutely, unequivocally, no doubt about it involve collusion of people at the highest level with a foreign entity to try to bring down a candidate and then bring down a sitting president. That was collusion between top FBI officials, Justice officials, a former MI6 intelligence officer who has been discredited by those same Justice officials, FBI officials. But they colluded with him to try to bring down a candidate and now a sitting president. Enough is enough. At some point we’ve gotta say what will be written in the annuls of history of this country as an outrageous attempt at a real coup d’etat. It was unsuccessful. The truth came out about who really colluded with foreign agents, and by the way it did involve a Democrat’s campaign and a foreign agent who was colluding with some of Putin’s agents in all likelihood as he was not even in Russia but was talking by phone to Russian agents in his efforts to help the Clinton Campaign and top Justice officials bring down a sitting president. And for us to continue this outrageous assault on the office of president even after the truth has come out that there was no conspiracy by the Trump campaign or President Trump or anybody in his family with Russia, and to continue to push… enough is enough for heaven’s sakes. Let’s please move on… Obviously the only thing he (George Orwell) got wrong was the year because we’ve seen what the Obama administration did with those Orwellian abilities to spy on those American citizens. It’s time to go back and clean up the mess that’s been made.

Congress votes to withdraw US support from Saudi-led Yemen war

The US House of Representatives has voted in favor of ending US involvement in the war in Yemen, but the bill is expected to be vetoed by President Donald Trump as the White House cites “serious constitutional concerns.”

The House voted 247-175 in favor of the resolution to direct Trump to end US military involvement in the war within 30 days and to end support for the Saudi-led coalition that it has been backing.

Congress is “no longer going to ignore its constitutional obligations when it comes to foreign policy,” said Democratic Rep. Eliot Engel, who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee, adding that the war in Yemen, now in its fifth year, “demands moral leadership.”

The vote marks the first time both chambers of congress have invoked the 1973 War Powers Resolution in an attempt to stop a foreign conflict.

The top Republican on the Foreign Affairs Committee voted against the resolution on Thursday, however. Rep. Michael McCaul said the vote was a “radical interpretation” of the War Powers Resolution which would have “implications far beyond Saudi Arabia.”

Thousands have already been killed during the conflict which the United Nations has said is the world’s worst ongoing humanitarian crisis, leaving millions on the brink of famine.

Moscow theater? Bibi’s meeting with Putin designed to woo Israelis ahead of election, analyst says

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Moscow was motivated primarily by a desire to show weary voters ahead of Israel’s upcoming election that he is a respected leader on the world stage, an analyst told RT.

The Israeli prime minister met for several hours with President Vladimir Putin in the Russian capital on Thursday, but the timing of his visit, rather than the topics of discussion, seemed to interest analysts the most.

Amir Oren, a veteran Israeli journalist and political commentator, said that while Netanyahu likely petitioned Putin on one of his favorite pet issues, Iran’s military presence in Syria, the meeting was clearly held for domestic consumption back home in Israel.

The main point is probably to gain domestic support because [Netanyahu] has consistently tried to portray himself as being, as he said, in a different league than all other political candidates – someone with global stature, who can meet with both the American and Russian presidents, and host the Brazilian president and others.

Whether the diplomatic stunt will give him a boost in the polls ahead of the April 9 election is another matter, noted Oren.

While some might speculate that Putin lent Netanyahu political support by agreeing to the impromptu summit, Oren pointed out that relations between Russia and Israel have almost certainly deteriorated following Washington’s decision to recognize Tel Aviv’s illegal annexation of Syria’s Golan Heights.

WATCH: Cops Dump 16 Rounds into Unarmed Man for Walking Down the Sidewalk

South Gate, CA — Daniel Canizales, 23, is suing the city of South Gate after multiple officers opened fire on him as he walked down the sidewalk—unarmed. On Wednesday, after his attorney announced the lawsuit, video of the incident was released, showing the entirely unnecessary use of deadly force.

The incident unfolded earlier this year on January 29 as police responded to an alleged disturbance in front of a storefront. When police showed up, Canizales was walking down the street.

As the 23-year-old unarmed man walked down the street, multiple police officers surrounded him with guns drawn. According to witnesses, South Gate police officers ordered Canizales to put his hands up several times, but he just continued to walk down the street.

As the video shows, Canizales made no sudden movements, was attempting to walk away from the officers, and did nothing to provoke officers to begin shooting him. But they did anyway.

Instead of deploying their tasers, or simply grabbing his hands, multiple officers opened fire on the unarmed man. He was shot 16 times, with 13 of those rounds hitting the left side of his body, shattering his bones. Miraculously, Canizales survived the shooting. However, doctors told him that he may never be able to walk again.

“He will need lifetime medical attention for his left knee cap and that’s why we’re here today, to seek justice because what these officers did was totally against the law,” attorney Luis Carrillo said.

Yes, Canizales should have complied with the officers’ orders to show his hands. However, does his poor decision to keep walking give police permission to act like executioners on a firing squad?

“Officers can shoot someone if the person is an imminent threat to their safety. What imminent threat to these officers safety was Daniel when he walking down the street with his arms visible and no gun is there?,” Carrillo asked.

The fact that deadly force was used as a first resort on this unarmed man is disturbing to say the least. Canizales was merely suspected of a misdemeanor, was unarmed, and multiple cops tried to kill him for it.

“The nerves are damaged permanently. That hurts to know that my brother might not be able to walk anymore,” Canizales’ brother, Alejandro Somoza said, who spoke on behalf of his family about what they have had to deal with.

According to the report, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is now investigating the shooting by the officers. None of their names have been released nor have they released their current employment status.

“It’s just real sad and depressing, you know, I just thank God that I’m here,” Canizales said at a press conference on Wednesday. Indeed, it is.

“We want justice, we want justice because the man was unarmed when he was shot,” Carrillo said. “He was not being pursued from an armed robbery or attempted murder or anything like that. What those officers did was totally against the law, and worse, they didn’t follow or were not trained properly as to police procedure and proper police tactics, you don’t just shoot an unarmed man in broad daylight!”

As you watch the video below, remember that police outnumbered Canizales, had him surrounded, had tasers on their hips, could have tackled him, or done any number of less lethal options. However, they chose to try to kill him—for walking away.

Pompeo urges France not to tax American tech firms as competition with China heats up

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has urged his French counterpart not to slap a digital services tax on US tech companies. The warning comes as the US and China compete for technological dominance in Europe.

“Secretary Pompeo urged France not to approve a digital services tax, which would negatively impact large US technology firms and the French citizens who use them,” the State Department said after Pompeo met French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian at a NATO summit in Washington on Thursday.

The proposed tax would target the largest US tech giants, amid public outcry over the minimal corporate taxes many of these firms pay in Europe. Draft legislation unveiled last month would slap a three percent tax on digital advertising, the sale of personal data and other revenue from any technology company that earns more than €750 million ($841 million) each year.

Washington’s strong-armed defense of American tech firms is one battle in the wider war for tech dominance worldwide. Chinese President Xi Jinping visited France late last month to ink a series of trade deals with French President Emmanuel Macron, as France weighed up allowing Chinese tech firm Huawei to participate in its rollout of 5G networks.

Pompeo has warned that the world should have its “eyes wide open” about the risks of using Chinese technology, which America’s intelligence agencies say facilitates Chinese state spying.

In Europe, the reaction has been mixed. The French Parliament debated a bill on Wednesday that did not explicitly name Huawei, but would require providers to hand over equipment for testing in order to be eligible for lucrative 5G contracts. Britain, too, has taken a tough stance on Huawei, pushing the firm to open itself up to audits by intelligence agency GCHQ, while Poland has outright banned Huawei from building its 5G network.

Robert Mueller’s Israel problem

June 5, 2018

As the Mueller probe drags along into year two of its supposed investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, a disturbing pattern has emerged. The special counsel has become obsessed with the state of Israel. The former FBI director is deeply suspicious, to the point of total paranoia, that there is a grand conspiracy involving the Trump campaign and transition officials as potential agents for the Israelis.

George Papadopoulos, the Israeli spy?

On Monday, the Daily Caller reported that Mueller had allegedly coerced Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos to plead guilty to lesser charges, after threatening that he would be prosecuted as an Israeli spy.

There isn’t much public evidence to suggest that Papadopoulos has substantial ties to Israel. Born to Greek immigrants, he has made a career of working on eastern Mediterranean energy issues. He has advocated for the very uncontroversial position that there should be a closer diplomatic and economic bond between Israel, Cyprus, Greece, and the United States. Nonetheless, the prospect of being prosecuted under the Espionage Act is terrifying, as a conviction carries a lengthy prison sentence.

While it is supposedly investigating Russia’s activities in 2016, the Mueller probe’s alleged Papadopoulos threat is just one of many instances in which the special counsel has instead exhibited a hyper focus on Israel-related activities.

Gen. Michael Flynn and Israel

In December, Gen. Michael Flynn pled guilty to making false statements to the FBI. Notably, one of the charges levelled at the decorated general was that during the transition period, he communicated with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. about a coming vote concerning an anti-Israel resolution at the United Nations. Although the mainstream media and the Left accused him of breaching protocol, a transition team reaching out to world powers prior to entering office is not illegal or unusual. In fact, it’s a standard, smart practice.

President Obama was notoriously hostile to Israel, so much so that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly called the incoming Trump administration and asked if they could rally for the defeat of the vicious U.N. resolution. The resolution passed anyway, thanks to U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power’s abstention.

Nonetheless, Mueller found it necessary to charge Flynn for misleading the FBI about his conversations with the Russian ambassador about the resolution. Additionally, as the special counsel probe drags on, evidence has emerged that Flynn did not in fact mislead the FBI about his conversations.

Kushner's security clearance was denied due to concerns of foreign influence: report

President Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, was reportedly denied security clearance last year over concerns of foreign influence and private business interests, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.

The Post, citing people familiar with the situation, identified Kushner as the "Senior White House Official 1" identified in House Oversight Committee documents released this week.

According to the documents, the individual was denied security clearance initially by career officials before being overruled by Carl Kline, who headed the White House’s personnel security office at the time.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) on Monday released a memo detailing allegations from Tricia Newbold, a whistleblower who has worked as a career official in the Executive Office of the President for 18 years.

Newbold told the committee last month that officials in the Trump administration overruled her and others' recommendations not to grant security clearances to 25 individuals.

She also reportedly told the committee that a background investigation into Kushner brought concerns regarding foreign influence, personal conduct and other business interests, according to the Post.

The issues raised by Kushner's background check were not made clear, but the Post reported in 2018 that foreign officials had allegedly discussed ways to influence Kushner by leveraging his business dealings and lack of foreign policy experience.

The United Arab Emirates, China, Israel and Mexico reportedly discussed such efforts, current and former officials told the paper.

The New York Times reported in February that Trump ordered Kushner be given top-secret security clearances despite concerns raised by the intelligence community. Cummings's memo did not mention Kushner or any other specific individuals, but Reuters reported Monday that Kushner and his wife, Ivanka Trump, President Trump's daughter, are among the individuals who received clearance despite warnings from experts.

In an interview Monday with Fox News’s Laura Ingraham, Kushner did not address the issue of security clearances directly but said that during his time in the White House he has been "accused of all different types of things" that "turned out to be false."

The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment.

Mexican Border State Local Police Accused of Protecting Gulf Cartel

MONTERREY, Nuevo Leon – The police chief of a rural town and two officers were arrested as part of an investigation into their alleged roles in protecting Gulf Cartel leaders and operations.

The arrests took place last week when police officers with Nuevo Leon’s Fuerza Civil were patrolling the highway that connects Los Aldamas with Los Herrera, approximately 35 miles south of the Texas border city of Roma. Breitbart News obtained a police report that revealed some details of the ongoing investigation. As the officers were patrolling, a black pickup with police logos appeared to be escorting another vehicle and then blocked traffic in order to allow the second vehicle to escape. The police logos on the black pickup were made to look like Fuerza Civil decals.

White House Aide: US to Pump Money Into Venezuela After Regime Change

Kudlow: US preparing 'rescue plan' for Venezuelan economy

In a special briefing for the Christian Science Monitor, President Trump’s top economic adviser Larry Kudlow revealed that the administration is already working with banks internationally in plans to greatly increase US investment in Venezuela if there is a regime change.

President Trump has demanded immediate regime change, with Venezuela’s president to be replaced by their opposition leader, who is seen as more pro-US. Kudlow says there is a “Day Two” plan to see huge influxes of cash if and when that happens.

This is in keeping with the Trump Administration’s belief that it can effectively shut down the economy of a disobedient nation, and then miraculously turn things around at a moment’s notice once they comply.

Whether the US can actually revive Venezuela’s long-suffering economy with a single round of investment, even government-approved investment, is unclear. Since this is the carrot the US is dangling in diplomatic operations with nations like North Korea, a failure could hurt the US negotiating position.

Marco Rubio: Arrest of Juan Guaido Would Amount to Coup D’etat

Senator Marco Rubio said that any attempt to arrest the Juan Guaido would amount to a “coup d’etat” which would face “consequences.”

Venezuela’s National Constituent Assembly (ANC) has lifted the parliamentary immunity of the self-declared “Interim President” Juan Guaido, opening the door for criminal charges to be brought against him.

Tuesday’s unanimous decision came following a request from the Supreme Court, and included the “authorisation” of the continuation of investigations into the also deputy and president of the National Assembly.

“The investigation [against Guaido] is formally authorised to continue in accordance with our Constitution and laws” said ANC President Diosdado Cabello during the session. Cabello added that justice was “necessary” and what would safeguard peace in Venezuela.

The ANC based their move on article 200 of Venezuela’s constitution which gives the Supreme Court the unique power to rule over parlamentarians’ immunity from prosecution.

Guaido, who was chosen as National Assembly president in January 2019, violated a court-ordered travel ban on February 22 when he crossed into Colombia to lead efforts to force humanitarian “aid” across the border. He later attended a Lima Group meeting in Bogota and travelled to Brazil, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Argentina before returning to Venezuela March 4.

The travel ban against Guaido, as well as an asset freeze, were also reinforced by the ANC Tuesday, both extended “until the investigation [against him] is over.”

Two criminal investigations being led by the Attorney General’s office are currently open, one relating to his unconstitutional behaviour as a public official, and the other regarding his alleged role in what the Venezuelan government describes as sabotage against the electric grid which has led to rolling blackouts across Venezuela in recent weeks. The opposition leader has also been barred from holding public office for 15 years by Venezuela’s Ombudsman Elvis Amoroso last month. Amoroso pointed towards alleged spending irregularities during Guaido’s time as a deputy.

Candy carcinogens: Petroleum-based additives are being used in popular children’s candy

If given the choice, how many parents would put petrochemicals in their children’s food? But when you buy most children’s foods on grocery store shelves, that’s the decision you’re making. These products are filled with petrochemical-derived ingredients from artificial colors to preservatives. Alarmingly, these ingredients have also been linked with health problems from hyperactivity to cancer.

A study in the journal Clinical Pediatrics examined just artificial food colors, and found these harmful chemicals in 96.3 percent of candies, 94 percent of fruit-flavored snacks and 89.7 percent of drink mixes and powders. When children’s and adult foods were examined together, 43.2 percent of all products were made with artificial colors. Fresh produce was the only food category not made with artificial colors (yes, that means meat, dairy and baked products may all contain fake color!).

The most egregious class of additives is certainly artificial colors, for which a strong body of evidence exists linking them to direct harm to children’s nervous systems. Evidence that artificial colors can produce hyperactive behavior in children has already led European countries to require warning labels on foods containing these ingredients. In fact, the same companies that use artificial colors in children’s products in the U.S. typically use naturally based colors for the same products in Europe.

On food labels, watch out for anything labeled a “dye” — a synthetic, petroleum-based coloring chemical, or a “lake” — the same color, but reformulated to be water-insoluble for use in dry or fatty foods. According to Center for Science in the Public Interest, the best policy is to avoid all foods made with artificial colors, not just because of the potential for health risks, but because artificially colored foods are typically low in nutritional value.

Bad diets killing more people globally than tobacco, study finds

Unhealthy diets are responsible for 11m preventable deaths globally per year, more even than smoking tobacco, according to a major study.

But the biggest problem is not the junk we eat but the nutritious food we don’t eat, say researchers, calling for a global shift in policy to promote vegetables, fruit, nuts and legumes.

While sugar and trans-fats are harmful, more deaths are caused by the absence of healthy foods in our diet, the study found.

The research is part of the Global Burden of Disease study by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) in Seattle, published in the Lancet medical journal.

Heart attacks and strokes are the main diet-related causes of death, followed by cancers and type 2 diabetes, say researchers.

The study found that eating and drinking better could prevent one in five deaths around the world. Although diets vary from one country to another, eating too few fruits and vegetables and too much sodium (salt) accounted for half of all deaths and two-thirds of the years of disability attributable to diet.

“Our findings show that suboptimal diet is responsible for more deaths than any other risks globally, including tobacco smoking, highlighting the urgent need for improving human diet across nations,” they write.

Rather than trying to persuade people to cut down on sugar, salt and fat, which has been “the main focus of of diet policy debate in the past two decades”, it would be better to promote healthy options, they say.

“Generally in real life people do substitution. When they increase the consumption of something, they decrease the consumption of other things,” said Dr Ashkan Afshin of the IHME, the lead author.

Countries that have a mainly Mediterranean diet eat more fruit, vegetables, nuts and legumes, said Afshin, naming Lebanon, Israel and Iran among the better performers. “But no country has an optimal level of consumption of all the health foods. Even in countries that have a Mediterranean diet, the current intake of many other dietary factors is not optimal.”

The paper is the most comprehensive analysis on the health effects of diet ever conducted, says the IHME.
