Question why God demands a blood sacrifice, get derided by followers of Christ.

I believe in God. I believe in the teachings of Christ. I do NOT believe God required us to sacrifice his creation unto him in OT times to "atone" for our sins/faults. It doesn't even remotely compute in the real of repentance. "I messed up! Better sacrifice that goat over there to make the Lord less frustrated". I do believe God requires us to sacrifice of ourselves to share in true communion with him.

I'll ask the question again. Try to pay attention. Who came up with the idea that "God" wants BLOOD?
