Product grown in Mexico is primarily done only in Cartel controlled areas. 99% of Mexican and other central and south american grown fruit and veg is and always has been a cover for smuggling; people, drugs and weapons and who knows what else. 99% of that same product can be grown in the US. It wasnt too long ago that letting Mexican trucking companies operate across the borders of US and canada with zero to little security or inspections was being proposed and approved under the guise of NAFTA.
