Consistently pro-POTUS folks all over boards are expressing serious reservations today.

I wonder if he realizes how much of his base he's now alienated?

Appoints establishment pawns all over the administration, including neocons and CFR acolytes.

Promotes the CIA regime change op in Venezuela, replete with a Bushite war criminal leading the charge.

Gives China six years. Gives Mexico a year.

Doubles down on the uber-pro-Israel rhetoric, with Pompeo claiming "anti Zionism is antisemitism".

And folks actually think a former CIA minion who covered up Reagan administration crimes for the likes of GHWB will be doing anything but serving his betters? Prepare for the report to focus on domestic proxies, while allowing elites' system of control to be buried amongst divisive 'left/right' bs.

Losing votes left and right, amongst longtime supporters.

Doesn't look too clever at present, but does look like "more of the same".

Retarded sycophants can laugh for the time being, but folks who don't show up at the polls due to all the contradictions, and the outright reversals on the campaign rhetoric ('no more wars of foreign intervention' means CIA regime change ops are cool), results in some other asshole getting in.

People should take off the self-imposed blinders and step out of the silo.

He's losing people who have vehemently supported him for over two years.

Hey, I've supported the guy from the start. It didn't hurt that the alternative was the epitome of establishment pawns, but it's not a question of turning normies. It's his own choices. And it's discouraging supporters who won't cheerlead stupid policies or actions that contradict the rhetoric.

That said, idolizing politicians is said to be dangerous for a reason. Not bc dictators happen, but bc people ignore the inconvenient. I don't support the fuckery in Venezuela, for example. Stupid move, unless he doesn't realize how many actual voters chose him simply bc he pledged to end the bs regime change plots.

Just noting the sentiment outside the silo. Not encouraging.

You have to admit, there are ignorant people everywhere (yes, even here).

Example: implying Reagan was a hero, bc it fits the narrative and the commentary comparing POTUS to him & Kennedy, but in reality Reagan was not a good president. He facilitated GHWB's fuckery (NSC3) and was complicit in the lies. Never once corrected them. No Kennedy, for certain.

But folks here just regurgitate it. Hurts the effort when educated folks can point out the absurdity.

Either way, just surprised to see so many people who regularly give him the benefit of the doubt, say, completely capitulate. Not a good sign.

Don't be dense. We need support going in. The numbers aren't insurmountable, given the efforts to fix votes. Alienating actual supporters is a real concern.

And don't tell me it's "part of the plan". That's parroting. It doesn't help.

I know I'm not the only one seeing it. He's alienating people who don't tolerate bs excuses for bad policy. "Anti-Zionism is antisemitism"? And he doesn't correct Pompeo? Just tone deaf.

I'm willing to make an argument where one is possible, but I'm not shilling for anyone, especially not a politician that seems confused about who his supporters are and why.

Folks need to look around once in a while. People who are uninspired or turned off (how most people are) don't show up to vote. It's not 1950. There are plenty of 'progressives' ready to line up two Novembers from now (and they don't even care who they run against him).

It's not a good sign.

It's the weakest of dismissals. It illuminates just how ill-equipped the person is to think rationally or make any argument of substance.

It's done so often here, and I get we've all been programmed to assume critical voices are paid antagonists, but it's so reflexive. No thought going on. Just parroting.

Sometimes it seems like people never bother to put their finger on the pulse.

I know people who have only ever voted Republican, some who were cool on him early but who came around, others who were vocal all along, and they're calling him Bush 2.0 or 'another politician, like the others', who are basically saying they're never voting Dem, but also not putting their name to him anymore.

It's not all one issue they divide on, but they're adding up. I don't want some pos like Booker/Harris/O'Rourke either.
