A 27-year-old man who worked for multiple Democrat congresswomen has pleaded guilty to charges of stealing information and illegally posting restricted info of U.S. senators online.

Jackson Cosko pleaded guilty to two counts of making public restricted personal information; one count of computer fraud; one count of witness tampering; and one count of obstruction of justice.

Cosko posted the personal information of Republican senators during the heated Brett Kavanaugh nomination hearings, including their home addresses and cellphone numbers, through an anonymous IP address in the House of Representatives.

What Cosko did is known as “doxxing,” described by prosecutors as “the act of gathering, by licit and illicit means, and posting on the Internet personal identifying information and other sensitive information about an individual.”

ALBANY – It’s been nearly a week since Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan said the city computer system had been infected with ransomware.

She said no personal information was stolen. However, according to some city employees and retirees that may not be accurate.

Albany Police Union Vice President Officer Gregory McGee said he’s been notified from officers that there has been some fraudulent activity on their bank accounts less than a week after this cyber attack.

“They’re noticing some substantial withdrawals are occurring,” said McGee.

McGee said some officers have had their entire bank accounts drained.

“It's awfully coincidental, I do know that there are other city employees that are also noticing fraudulent activity as well,” said McGee.
