Remember that photo of Alaska Q posted?

Ft Greely is in Alaska. It’s a missile defense base. It is armed with anti-ballistic missile missiles. Good spot for it. Good views of NK and Russia.

Ft Greely was formed as Army Air Corp Station 17. Just a coincidence.

Today, in addition to being a missile launch site for mid course, missile defense missiles, its also headquarters for the Cold Region Test Center where the limits of waging war in extreme cold are tested. Odd isn’t it? Climate is getting warmer not colder, right? So why would we need to work on fighting war in the cold? (Look there, not here).
