I bet any amount of money these allegations are why POTUS nominated him. Allowing this to pan out/play out wi pave the way for going after Biden et al, and assist in making it all look even-handed and fair, and not politically motivated. Added bonus is Cain goes down too, if these claims are true. Very stable genius, our president. Crazy like a fox.
Not the first time he has done this. People think he unwittingly had swamp rats on his team — but he had them there for good reasons. They were expendable. Keep them close so you can watch them, and use them for other things as well. Cohen, for example. He became a target. Raid of his place got lots of goodies into evidence. And there are more – just look around. Nothing is ever as it seems on the surface with DJT. Watching folks criticize his choices is always funny to me

I think he sees the dirty ones as fair game - nominate them and let them get taken out. Someone else does the work for him. And if he gets a little mud flung at him in the process, so what. that happens on the daily regardless, might as well gain from it. He is ruthless when it comes to making things right again, and I love it.
Think this game re: his tax returns is the same. He is going to make them beg and beg and scream for them. Then he will hand them over. And itll be another nothingburger, but it will open the door to go after theirs - or the returns of all 2020 candidates. Just watch.
It is incredible to watch. It truly is. He never ceases to amaze me. Single minded in purpose, and he takes no prisoners. It isnt political, he will let Ds and Rs alike go down, he doesnt give a fuck.
It is why they are ALL afraid of him. Regardless of what side of the aisle they're on, if they're dirty they know he is coming for them. Likewise, he has freed the ones whose hearts are in the right place to finally do the right thing without fear of attack. I expect more and more to get on board as the train rolls along. Hop on or get mowed down. Those seem to be the only choices available.
