European Union Launches Its Own Online ‘Fact-Checker’ to Fight ‘Europhobics’

 

The EU has set up its own “fact checking” service in order to combat the spread of so-called “fake news” ahead of May’s European elections.

The new ‘Decoders of Europe’ site, based on the Boulevard St Germain in Paris, seeks to “answer a series of questions or accusations, explaining what constitutes the reality and sometimes the complexity of European policies. Beyond these explanations, our goal is also to better inform, on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, what works in Europe!” according to the EU website.

Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.) on Sunday said both Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) come across as "tone-deaf" on allegations raised by women.

 

Both Biden and Sanders are “of a different era,” Santorum told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “As much as they try to sound like they get it, they don’t, and it’s clear to those of us who have an ear for this that they don’t get it.”

CBS's Brennan presses Giuliani on 'contradictory' positions on Mueller's investigation

 

CBS's "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan on Sunday pressed President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani over what she called "contradictory" positions on special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

 

With Giuliani appearing on "Face the Nation" for an interview Sunday, Brennan said he was "impugning their credibility" while also "accepting and supporting their conclusions" in reference to Mueller's team, which investigated Russian interference in the 2016 election.

 

"That’s a bit contradictory," she said. "You’re accusing them of bias but you agree with their conclusions."

Nadler calls Barr a 'biased defender' of the Trump administration

 

"Remember, he is a biased person," Nadler said on CBS's "Face The Nation."

 

"He is someone who is an agent of the administration. He is a political appointee of the president, whose interests he may very well be protecting here."

 

Nadler later added that he dismissed what Barr said in his four-page summary of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow.
