Only functioning airport in Libya's Tripoli hit by air raid - reports
The only functioning airport in the Libyan capital of Tripoli has been hit in an air raid, local TV and several agencies report, citing eyewitnesses. Heavy fighting broke out between the forces of the country's two governments.
A military aircraft belonging to the Libyan National Army forces has reportedly targeted Mitiga airport, located in the Libyan capital’s eastern suburb. Commanded by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar the group challenged the government in Tripoli for power.
The Libyan authorities confirmed that the airport was closed following the airstrike, but provided no additional information on casualties or damage resulting from it. Mitiga has been the only airport used for international flights since the capital’s international airport was destroyed back in 2014.

Russian warships unleash cruise missile strikes across western Idlib (VIDEO)
BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:45 P.M.) – Russian warships off the coast of the Mediterranean Sea carried out a series of cruise missile strikes on the jihadist rebel positions in the western countryside of the Idlib Governorate.
According to reports from Latakia, the Russian warhships fired several cruise missiles towards the positions of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party in the Jisr Al-Shughour countryside
This cruise missile attack by the Russian Navy comes just 24 hours after the jihadist rebels attacked the large city of Masyaf in the western countryside of the Hama Governorate.
At least seven civilians were killed during the jihadist attack on Masyaf, including two nurses that were working at the National Hospital.
The Syrian and Russian armed forces responded to the attack with a non-barrage of missiles on the positions of the jihadist and Turkish-backed rebels.

In a big blow, the UK High Court has rejected Vijay Mallya's plea against the extradition order to India. The liquor baron has appealed in the UK high court seeking permission to appeal against an extradition order signed by the British home secretary. The UK govt has signed an order to extradite fugitive Vijay Mallya. Mallya was probed by the enforcement directorate and the CBI in India for alleged ban loan default case amounting Rs 9000 crore.

Islamists arrested after plotting to massacre kindergarten full of children in France
Two Islamic extremists, both 20 years old, have been arrested by police in Paris after allegedly plotting to massacre a kindergarten full of children, Breitbart reports.
The two men were arrested on March 25th with the Paris prosecutor charging them over plotting to kill children and police officers.
One of the men involved is said to have been known to the General Directorate of Homeland Security (DGSI), France’s internal intelligence agency.
The man, who investigators consider the mastermind of the plot, admitted after his arrest that he wanted to enter the kindergarten, attack the children, and then take some hostage until police arrived, at which point he would attempt to kill the police officers.
The suspect also spoke highly of terrorist Mohamed Merah, the Islamic extremist who was behind the Toulouse and Montauban shootings that targetted French soldiers along with teachers and children at a Jewish school in 2012.
A source close to the investigation also told broadcaster RTL that the chief suspect in the plot has “very strong psychiatric instability”, as well as signs of depression, narcissism, and suicidal tendencies.
DGSI had been observing the man since 2015 after he had become increasingly close to the radical jihadist movement.
Police decided to arrest him shortly after he made it known he was looking to procure weapons and adding that his plot had not reached a concrete planning stage at the time of his arrest.
The arrest is just the latest terror plot to be foiled in France. Last October, French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said that authorities had managed to thwart five major terror attacks in 2018 alone.

South Africa court says Mozambique ex-finance minister Manuel Chang can be extradited to US
A South African court ruled on Monday that a Mozambican ex-finance minister, held since December on a US warrant over corruption allegations, can be extradited to the United States.
But the future of the defendant, Manuel Chang, was not immediately resolved, as the court was to rule later on Monday on a rival extradition request from Mozambique.

Hiftar, a former Gaddafi military chief, has emerged as a major player, his self-styled Libyan National Army backing an administration in the country’s east in opposition to the UN-backed government in Tripoli.
