This qanon thing is not a government psyop. It was just some dude shitposting on 4chan saying "The Calm before the storm" meant that Hillary was going to be locked up. Donald Trump came out on TV and said in an interview, when he said that he was talking about the North Korea situation. But because so many people wanted to believe that Hillary was going to be locked up and because there was so many refugees from the pizzagate thing that fizzled, they jumped on it, it became a thing, the shitposter played along, people kept adding on more stuff and it got out of hand. Nothing more. That is all it ever was.

>Don't feel bad. I consider myself a skeptic, and repeat George Carlin's motto about how "I don't believe anything the government tells me", and I still went for it for a Long time. Longer than I'm proud to admit.
>That's how propaganda works. It picks out things we're hopeful for and exploits those sentiments to get folks to gloss over reality, and to make excuses when we see contradictions.
>I wish it weren't so, but it appears we've been had. There's no rational explanation for half of what's been done, unless we consider it could have been a plot to placate certain (recently more vocal) constituencies.
>Consistent ploy of elites. I should have been more circumspect all along, but the pledge to 'root out' the proxies of the establishment was a hook I just had to bite on.
>Lesson learned - again.

This qanon thing is not a government psyop. It has nothing to do with anybody or anything in government . It was just some dude shitposting on 4chan saying "The Calm before the storm" meant that Hillary was going to be locked up. Donald Trump came out on TV and said in an interview when questioned, that he was talking about the North Korea situation. But because so many people wanted to believe that Hillary was going to be locked up and because there was so many refugees from the pizzagate thing that had just recently fizzled, they jumped on it. It's kind of like you never know when some crazy item is it going to make someone rich, like the Rubik's Cube. And you never really know why one meme goes viral and others don't. This particular post took off and became this.
