Why do the Dems constantly bring up and even run on the platform of “Climate Change”?

Is it:

1. They are continuing with their Post-Hillary win scenario cause they have nothing else?

2. They are pushing it, letting our side ridicule it only for them (the Dems) to be proven right just before the 2020 elections as the planet starts coming in?
