If the US Constitution had had a "no bat ears" amendment we would not have had Bathhouse and we would not have this low flying elephant running US Secret Service.
The SS was conceived by Abe Lincoln and Alan Pinkerton. Pinkerton had run a spies throughout the confederacy during the civil war, but when Lincoln was assassinated the choice director for the new agency belonged to Andrew Johnson, who did not appoint Lincoln's choice for the job.
Instead he hired a counterfeiter named William Wood ex of the DC prison.

The rationale was the same then as now; "only a criminal would be smart enough to catch other criminals. "
Wood introduced a number of confederates to the SS, and they arrested a number of big counterfeiters. Having eliminated their competition, Wood and his confederates set up operations for themselves making a market in fraudulent USG securities , banknotes and bonds letters of credit and confidential documents.
Alan Pinkerton objected to Woods, a convicted criminal heading the Treasuries enforcement division but shills soon convinced all concerned Pinkerton's motives for the accusation were suspect; born of resentment as having lost the patronage plum of the US Treasuries elite anti-counterfeiting unit.
Regrettably the SS has been comp'd from the beginning, long before they were necessarily complicit in JFK's assassination.
