Anti-Trump Senator Gets Snubbed In Home State

Republican Maine Sen. Susan Collins only donations above $200 from 15 residents of her home state — a possible snub in response to her strong stance against President Donald Trump, according to a report from Roll Call.

Collins reported that she raised $1.1 million in the first quarter of 2019, but only $9,200 came from supporters that actually lived in Maine from 17 itemized donations coming from 15 residents.

The senator won reelection during the 2014 election cycle and raised $52,000 from 46 itemized contributions in the first quarter of 2013. Those in-state donations made up 41% of her total for the same time period in 2013

Video emerged this week of an armed man being attacked by two teens on Chicago’s Gold Coast. The teens were pummeling the man outside of a restaurant window.

That’s when the man pulled a gun to save his life. The two young thugs immediately scampered.

The reaction from inside the restaurant was interesting. The people only got excited when the man drew his gun.

US soldiers return to Palau for exercise after 37-year hiatus

About 200 soldiers are heading to Palau next week as part of Pacific Pathways, the first time in 37 years the Army has sent personnel to the nation of about 340 tiny islands in Micronesia.

An infantry company and a battalion tactical advanced command post from I Corps will conduct a security demonstration and small arms qualifications April 14-19 in Palau, U.S. Army Pacific said in a statement.

The Palau exercise is part of Pacific Pathways, during which soldiers are deployed in the Pacific for a series of back-to-back exercises. The Army is expanding the length of those deployments, increasing to four months this year, with six-month stints planned for 2020.

The current Pacific Pathways 19-1 consists of five exercises: Hanuman Guardian and Cobra Gold in Thailand, Salaknib and Balikatan in the Philippines and the upcoming one in Palau, where U.S. soldiers have not had a presence since 1982, the Army said.

The main site for the Palau exercise will be Ngeremlengui, located near Koror, the country’s primary commercial area.
