Leaking what he leaked was to discredit the NSA and get THEM in trouble with the people, denying that agency the use of the tools while the CIA maintained the use of the tools.

If you are confused by this, just know that the CIA is evil and has been since inception. The NSA is neutral and has mostly been concerned with actually doing its job to protect US interests. Snowden leaked to cripple the NSA, taking out a rival agency (CIA - tool of the cabal, which always seeks monopoly of power).

Short skinny: Snowden is an important and active player in the struggle. Bringing him in and and hopefully turning him is imperative.
