Pure, unadulterated BS. B-52s may operate in Afghanistan, but they would never operate FROM Afghanistan. There is absolutely no reason to operate an aircraft with inflight refueling capability and intercontinental range from that country. Also, the B-52 needs an extremely long runway stressed for heavyweight loads–the B-52 puts more stress on a runway than a fully-loaded 747 due to the gear configuration.
