White US Government Agent secretly converting to Islam is becoming a hollywood trope.
I have a hard time believing Brennan follows any religion.
A larger point, however, the term Religion in many cases has been subverted and is used to describe Political speech that others are not allowed to criticize without accusation of hate speech. I wish I could point this out to everyone I meet.
Humanity needs to come up with a way of semantically separating the political components of religion from the spiritual part of religion. The effort to differentiate between "Radical Islam" and "Islam" was certainly undermined by Barrack Obama's unwillingness to use the term.
Differentiating the two is necessary, but "radical" isn't the right word because of its negative connotation people will never ever apply it to themselves. I'd like to propose calling it "Political Islam". We can talk about "Political Islam" or "Political Christianity" or "Political Judaism" without making an attack on the spiritual components of the belief set. Some religions have more political components embedded in their doctrine than others, but I think thats a conversation people can have without loosing their minds.
