>"I think spying did occur. The question is whether it was adequately predicated. … I think it’s my obligation. Congress is usually very concerned with intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies staying in their proper lane,"

>"I have an obligation to make sure government power is not abused and I think that’s one of the principal roles of the attorney general."

Very reassuring statements for an AG to make. Also a good exchange between Barr & Graham on whether a target of foreign espionage should be notified by the FBI.

Barr/Graham exchange at around 1:33:30

Also at 1:28:30 in response to a Coons' question re: 'press accounts of Mueller's team preparing summaries for public release', Barr responds that he & RR were expecting a report that would make it very easy for them to determine what could be taken out, but THAT'S NOT WHAT THEY GOT. Barr explains that that discrepancy is what is causing the lag time & prompted him to release his letter.

Another attempt at gotcha by the SC squad.

One more good exchange at 1:22:00 on the opioid crisis, Barr mentions as far as illicit drugs, a huge part of this to address the problems of Mexico, "our drug supplier". Organizations supplying the drugs are "formidable criminal enterprises".

Then mentions the wall as a critical part of addressing the issue.

>The hardworking men and women at the DOJ and FBI deserve better.

Let's go back to the article that Q referenced:

>"This is not launching an investigation of the FBI," Barr stressed. "Frankly, to the extent there were issues at the FBI, I do not view it as a problem of the FBI. I think it was probably a failure of the group of leaders—the upper echelons of the FBI. I think the FBI is an outstanding organization and I am very pleased Director Chris Wray is there."

So, more disingenuous disinfo from Schifty. Any honest hardworking investigator should be able to see right through this cheap ploy instantly.

Someone should ask Warner if he's had any contacts with Oleg Deripaska or his associates like Mad Max grilled Mnuchin on yesterday.
