I'm in Durham, NC. There was a gas explosion here this morning that's making some headlines. Don't want to speculate but wanted to mention some points that might be worth knowing.

1. Today is Durham's 150th anniversary.

2. There was a large police presence near campus yesterday (more than I've seen in my 4 years here). On my 1 mile drive to class I spotted about 15 cop cars scattered around.

3. Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe gave a talk on Duke's campus last night entitled “The Threat: How the FBI Protects America in the Age of Terrorism and Trump.”

There was a uniquely large police presence around Durham yesterday. I spotted this near Harris Teeter, Whole Foods and on 9th street. Andrew McCabe was on the Duke campus yesterday giving a talk on terrorism. Also, Obama came here for a basketball game in February which is when Zion William's Nike shoe blew out at the very beginning of the game.
