Libyan National Army shoots down gov’t plane near Misrata – spokesman

General Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army claims to have shot down a military airplane belonging to the Tripoli-based government of national accord (GNA) that took off from Misrata.

LNA spokesman Ahmed Mismari told reporters about the incident during a press briefing on Wednesday. He did not specify the type of the plane, just that it had taken off from the GNA-controlled Misrata and was shot down over Tripoli.

Unconfirmed reports indicate it was an Aero L-39 Albatros, a Czech-made training jet often used in a ground attack role.

New York officials will be tracking down the unvaccinated, including children as young as 6-months-old, and force vaccinating them. Resisters will be charged or fined.

New York, NY — As TFTP reported at the end of last month, in one of the most shocking moves to date over the 2019 measles outbreak, Rockland County officials declared a state of emergency and effectively banned any child under the age of 18, who had not received the MMR vaccine, from all public spaces. Now, officials are going one step further and have ordered mandatory vaccinations for multiple New York zip codes. Those who try to resist getting the shots will face charges.

If you watch the news or read mainstream media, you would think that people are dropping dead left and right and tens of thousands of people have contracted measles. However, according to the Centers for Disease Control, there have only been 465 reported cases as of April 4.

Nevertheless, government officials and media alike are whipping up mass hysteria and using that hysteria to remove your right to informed consent.

“It’s a war zone,” said a doctor who said he had seen over a hundred patients who hadn’t been vaccinated but asked for anonymity for fear of jeopardizing his practices, according to a rather hysterical article in the Brainerd Dispatch. “I think the city is underestimating the scale of the outbreak.”

“We cannot allow this dangerous disease to make a comeback here in New York City,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday. “We have to stop it now.”

In New York, there have been 285 reported cases of measles since last September, mostly in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood. Of the 285 cases, 246 were in children. There have only been 21 people hospitalized for it. No one in the entire country has died from it.

“This is the epicenter of a measles outbreak that is very, very troubling and must be dealt with immediately,” de Blasio said at a news conference. “The measles vaccine works. It is safe, it is effective, it is time-tested . . . The faster everyone heeds the order, the faster we can lift it.”

The hysteria over this measles outbreak borderlines on insanity as measles is not even on the list of federally quarantinable diseases. Yet quarantines are already happening.

Furthermore, though 90,000 people die around the world from measles every year, according to the World Health Organization, malnutrition, especially vitamin A deficiency is the primary cause of death in those cases. In fact, 75-92% of measles hospitalizations in the United States are also due to vitamin A deficiency.

Even the CDC admits that before the measles mass vaccination program was introduced, nearly everyone contracted measles and obtained lifetime immunity by age 15.

Italian Gov’t Moves to Seize Reserves from Central Bank

Italy’s government is pushing ahead with new laws challenging the central bank’s control of the country’s reserves. Rome is calling for public ownership of the nation’s gold.

The ruling coalition of the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement and the League parties proposed two bills that have evoked nationwide controversy over the country’s long-standing financial and monetary system. One draft law may, reportedly, oblige the central bank’s owners to sell their shares to the Italian Treasury at prices from the 1930s, while the second law is set to declare Italian nationals to be the owners of the Bank of Italy’s reserves.

“The gold belongs to the Italians, not to the bankers. We are ready to battle everywhere in Italy and to bring Italians to the streets if necessary,” said Giorgia Meloni, leader of the Brothers of Italy opposition party, as quoted by the Wall Street Journal.

The 5-Star Movement and the League previously blamed the current system of governing the country’s monetary system for losses of small individual investors caused by the recent downfall of several Italian financial institutions.

According to government officials, the central bank failed to maintain proper supervision of the country’s banking system during the latest crisis that put the entire monetary system of the Eurozone at risk.

“If you are here with your current account in the red, it’s because the people who were supposed to control things didn’t do so,” Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Italy, Matteo Salvini said in February.

The Bank of Italy, which holds 2,534 metric tons of gold worth some $102 billion, currently enjoys full independence with the entire decision-making process absolutely autonomous from the government.

“We need a change of course at the Bank of Italy if we think about what happened in the last years,” Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio said earlier this year, calling for the current administration of the regulator to be replaced.

Top Democratic senator shocks with comments during Senate hearing on bill that protects unborn children

Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono (Hawaii) is one of the most outspoken pro-abortion lawmakers in Congress, even leading the charge against Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination because she feared he might overturn Roe v. Wade.

On Tuesday, Hirono continued her stalwart defense of abortion, condemning legislative efforts that focus on extending protections for unborn children.

During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, Hirono suggested efforts be spent on children "here already," rather than the millions who die from abortion each year.

"The word hypocritical doesn't even begin to cover what is happening to women and children across our country," Hirono said.

"I hope supporters of the bills that we're talking about today, both in the states and in Congress, turn their efforts to improving the lives of the children who are very much here already and who are so poorly served by the Trump administration and its policies," she added.

The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which is also known as "Micah's law," bans abortions after 20 weeks on the scientific basis that unborn children feel pain by 20 weeks gestation.

The House has passed the bill during the last three sessions of Congress, but the Senate has yet to approve it.

Hirono also spoke out against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) introduced in January in response to Virginia Gov. Ralpn Northam (D) seemingly endorsing infanticide during a radio interview that later went viral.

Hirono, like many outspoken critics of the pro-life movement, often points out the "hypocrisy" of pro-lifers, namely that they allegedly only care about unborn children, but are indifferent once those children are born.

In many instances, this criticism is not unfair — perhaps even true. Pro-life means advocating for life on all fronts, including those that are not politically expedient or comfortable, and the pro-life movement has often failed in this regard (Hello criminal justice reform).

However, the idea that we cannot legislatively extend protections for unborn children because pro-life advocates are often hypocrites does not only fail the constitutional purpose of our government (to protect life) — it's pure evil.

THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL – The Truth About The Invasion of America

Let me be clear. I fully support President Trump. Without him, we would not have a country now, and no one else could have survived the pure crap thrown at him the last two years—much less achieve the historic accomplishments he has racked up. That said, we are at a breaking point.

Countless people have asked me why our President—who promised national security above all else—is not fulfilling that all-important promise, and the answer is not as simple as a new Homeland Security Secretary. Here’s what I know, and I cannot sound the alarm loudly enough.

Congress, Speaker Pelosi, the Democrats, Mitch McConnell, and the RINOs passed a bill that completely sold out American citizens and hardworking taxpayers—all middle and lower-income America—and crammed it down the President’s throat. An inner circle of people in the White House do not share the MAGA agenda and either mislead the President or flat-out lied to him about it all. And, the National Emergency Declaration won’t fix it.

The bill they crammed through aids and abets the Mexican criminal cartels, boosting their billion-dollar-business by multi-millions of dollars a month. It’s a neon sign inviting human-traffickers and other criminals to grab children and pour into the United States. It is worse than amnesty.

That is why tens of thousands more people with children are pouring into this country every day—and being released immediately. Not only did the bill cut the number of beds for detention, it provides—unbelievably—that if the invaders qualify in the broad language below—and tens of thousands do, they can NOT BE DETAINED OR DEPORTED. Section 224(a) provides that “None of the funds provided by this Act or any other Act . . . may be used by the Secretary of Homeland Security to place in detention, remove, refer for a decision whether to initiate removal proceedings, or initiate removal proceedings against a sponsor, potential sponsor, or member of a household of a sponsor or potential sponsor of an unaccompanied alien child . . .”

Others tried to warn us. This provision is unconscionable, insidious, and outright criminal. It should be challenged by the Department of Justice as contrary to the criminal laws and national security of the United States. This bill should never have been signed, but since it has been, there are few alternatives left to the President to save the United States of America.

One, as I have written previously, is for the President to issue an executive order to stop all immigration, with whatever exceptions he deems appropriate, in the national interest for 180 days and renew it as needed. It would not affect non-immigrant visas. The authority rests in 8 U.S.C. 1182f, and the Supreme Court affirmed it recently in Trump v. Hawaii. Other presidents have done it. If some deem this a “nuclear option,” so be it. We’re out of options.

Trump’s Agenda is Officially Dead

We should not expect Trump to get any of his agenda items through Congress. Trump’s promises to replace the Affordable Care Act, invest in infrastructure, and cut middle class taxes have been essentially shelved. The entire purpose of civilization is everyone coming together because the sum is greater than the individuals. Today, we have reverted back to the individuals and there is no longer any cohesive sum that is greater. We have devolved backwards and it will take the crash and burn of government before we can rise from the political ashes with hope of a new government structure that once again respects the liberty of the individual.

While the Democrats have officially killed the Trump agenda, what they fail to understand is that this is also the destruction of their agenda as well. There will no longer be a government of ALL the people, it is now a government of us v them. That is how civilization dies. It defeats the entire purpose of forming societies. Politics has become a confrontation to impose tyranny upon your opponent. The very core of socialism is to deny individual freedom. The state comes first – the individual second. Everything the American Revolution stood for is now completely overturned.

Doctor who was paid by Purdue to push opioids to testify against drugmaker

A doctor who led the charge for mass prescribing of opioids in the US, and was then paid by Purdue Pharma to help drive sales of OxyContin, is to testify against the drugmaker and other companies facing a raft of lawsuits over America’s opioid epidemic.

Dr Russell Portenoy, who many experts believe did more than any other specialist to erode longstanding caution within the medical profession over prescribing opioids because of addiction fears, has agreed to cooperate with lawyers for cities and counties suing drug makers, distributors and pharmacies in return for dropping legal actions against him.

In a newly released statement to an Ohio court hearing a combined lawsuit of more than 1,600 cases, Portenoy accuses drugmakers of underplaying the dangers of opioids and of pushing them on patients who did not need them. The doctor said the industry overstated the benefits of narcotics painkillers and “understated the risks of opioids, particularly the risk of abuse, addiction and overdose”.

But if he appears as a witness, Portenoy, a professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, will be vulnerable to defense claims he laid the ground for the drugmakers with an evangelical promotion of opioids based on massaged scientific studies he has since repudiated.

Singapore Government Pushes Fake News Law Which Will Give It More Options To Shut Down Critics

Fake news laws aren't harmless. They don't protect the public. They're useless. And they lend themselves to censorship. Given these factors, it's tough to believe any of the proponents of fake news laws are proceeding in good faith but blinded by good intentions and fuzzy logic.

Anywhere they've been put in place, they've lead directly to governments taking action against political opponents, dissidents, and activists. Excuses are made about national security and protecting the public, but in the end, it's the public that ends up short on protection.

Singapore's new fake news bill is no exception. Legislators began pushing this bill last year, using their own fake news to claim the proposal had widespread support from the country's residents. The committee behind the legislation heavily editorialized the feedback it received at a public hearing, presenting a vocal opponent's comments as being supportive of instituting a fake news law.

Roughly a year later, the bill has materialized, according to the New York Times.

Singapore introduced draft legislation on Monday that it said would combat false or misleading information on the internet, but critics said the measure could be used as a cudgel against the government’s critics.

The legislation, called the Protection From Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Bill, would require websites to run corrections alongside “online falsehoods” and would “cut off profits” of sites that spread misinformation, among other measures, according to the Ministry of Law.

The bill is widely expected to become law in the coming weeks because it has support from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s People’s Action Party, which has a supermajority in Parliament

The bill can't define "fake news" with any particularity. This all but ensures the law, if it passes, will be abused frequently. What's being called fake news is anything that "reduces public confidence" or "incites hatred or ill will" between groups of people. So, yeah, this would cover a lot of what's posted to social media, especially the "inciting ill will" part.

Supposedly, this new law won't target criticism, satire, or parody. But that's been said about similar laws, which have gone on to target criticism, satire, and parody. The government will decide what is or isn't "truth" and enforce accordingly.

According to a draft of the bill, punishments for some violations could include fines of up to about $44,000 and a prison term of up to six years for individuals, or fines of up to about $738,000 in “any other case.”

This will be a welcome addition to the censorial toolkit Singapore's government can wield against critics and opponents. As the New York Times article notes, Singapore bears a passing resemblance to a democracy thanks to its election process, but there has never been a change in power as a result of this process. The government already uses the country's criminal defamation law to muffle criticism. This law won't improve the current state of speech in Singapore. It will only make it worse.

Feds charge 2 dozen in billion dollar Medicare brace scam

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal agents on Tuesday broke up a billion dollar Medicare scam that peddled unneeded orthopedic braces to hundreds of thousands of seniors. Two dozen people were charged, including doctors accused of writing bogus prescriptions.

The Justice Department said the scheme relied on overseas call centers to pry Medicare numbers from beneficiaries. Authorities also announced charges against owners of call centers, telemedicine firms and medical equipment companies that shipped unneeded back, shoulder, wrist and knee braces.

Profits from the scheme were laundered through offshore shell companies and then used to buy high-end cars, yachts and luxury homes here and abroad, officials said.

Medicare's anti-fraud unit said it's taking action against 130 medical equipment companies implicated. The companies billed the program a total of $1.7 billion, but not all of it was paid out.

The loss to Medicare was estimated at more than $1.2 billion.

Predictably, Benjamin Netanyahu has been ladling out chutzpah in huge dollops, insisting that his was a convincing political victory despite a historically low voter turnout in the Arab community after it emerged that his Likud Party had deployed 1,200 hidden cameras on its activists to monitor — and, no doubt, to intimidate — Arab voters in local polling stations. It was a sinister move in what is supposed to be a democracy — the only one in the Middle East, we are told ad nauseam — and one which has already compelled Israel’s Central Elections Committee to lodge an official police complaint.

Of course, Netanyahu dismissed this and other reports that certain locations had a higher than 100 per cent voter turnout; even the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein never achieved that, no matter how much chutzpah he deployed. According to election statistics, voter turnout was a staggering 167 per cent in the illegal settlement of Brukhin, while the Bedouin village of Bir Haj managed a turnout of around 117 per cent.

Madonna to perform at Eurovision in Israel

American pop superstar Madonna will perform at this year’s controversial Eurovision Song Contest, which is being held in Tel Aviv.

The European Broadcasting Union confirmed that the 60-year-old singer is set to perform two songs at Eurovision, including a classic track and a new single.

Madonna is expected to be accompanied by a 160-person entourage.

This will be Madonna’s fourth performance in Israel. The first came in 1993, and was followed by concerts in 2009 and 2012.

There have been numerous calls for all artists to boycott this year’s contest and not to allow the arts to whitewash Israeli aggression against Palestinians.

The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) and Jewish Voice For Peace called on Madonna to cancel her performance.

PACBI took to Twitter to send a message to Madonna, telling her performance and star-power “will help cover up Israel’s abuses against the Palestinians.”

Tell Madonna that performing at Eurovision in Israel means lending her star-power to cover up Israel’s continued human rights abuses and harms the Palestinian struggle for freedom, justice and equality.

The tweet was followed by the hashtag #MadonnaDontGo.

Jewish Voice for Peace also tweeted: “Stay home, Madonna. Lend your voice for freedom.”

Recently, some 171 Swedish artists and celebrities signed an open letter urging for the boycott of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest and stressed that “as long as Israel, with its apartheid policy, denies the Palestinians their basic human rights, we must renounce all participation in Israeli cultural exchanges.”

In September 2018, over 140 artists from around the world, including six Israeli artists, signed a letter calling for the boycott of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest if it is “hosted by Israel while it continues its grave, decades-old violations of Palestinian human rights.”
