Upon further digging, the Marina Abramovic's plans for the MAI in Hudson, NY were scrapped in October, 2017. The excuse given was that "costs ballooned from $15 million to $31 million.

So the project was scrapped, yet there's a gigantic list of donors who donated to the project on the MAI website. Gee… I wonder she gave the donors their money back?
