Assange.

Some people are worried about the deal.

PM May likely had to sign it off.

Evidence.

Labour MPs (mostly) are the ones who 70 have signed a doc asking for extradition to Sweden if requested.

France have offered asylum.

This would stop the deal made from being carried out.

Does the EU and Labour (Corbyn) have something massive to lose?

They seem to have shown their hand.

A closer look at the alignment of those 70 MPs from the UK parliament should show signs of what they fearโ€ฆ if mostly remainers, it's the EU. If mixture and Corbyn aligned, it's the leader of their party.

If Assange damages Corbyn, it is likely they fear a coming election defeat on the back of the deal made. Could be info on the IRA or Hezbollah or Iran, all are friends of Corbyn.

Reading this, looks like the deal made by US for Assange will royally screw Corbyn. he personally opposes the extradition and Labour MPs have scrambled to block in favour of Sweden. This could still be EU related but looks like the Labour leader fears what Assange will do to his party going into an expected election.

Ergo, Labour are expecting an election this year and expecting the deal with Assange to fuck labour.
