Amazon may provide a few jobs, but here is how Amazon does things… They see a hot trend in their market. They contract the bottom dollar bid to stock their warehouses from Chinese manufacturers.
Further, there is always the lie that tax favors end up paying back into the community. This is the other big one. Governments will trip over themselves to write special grants to exempt large companies from paying licensing fees, taxes, etc.
However, any average person found to be operating a lemonade stand without five licences and a signature from the health department will get fined into the slums.
So, yeah, whatever these politicians are willing to do in order to get Amazon should be the new global policy for all businesses, not special favors handed out.
It should be rather telling that the exact same people we are finding in control of C_A slush funds/shell companies are blasting AOC over Amazon.
