Well it’s simple.
There is absolutely no way that the Pres. doesn’t know what Wikileaks is. Therefore his comments are theatre. He is creating space between himself & Assange (despite approving of him in the past) so that, however this is planned to unfold, that it can be seen to happen “organically”.
Trump knows exactly who Assange is & what Wikileaks is.
