I think, too, it could be explained as a situation that he knew the outfit that dropped the Hillary emails was called Wikileaks. That doesn't necessarily mean he knows all about Wikileaks.
Seem to remember he praised Wikileaks, but in conjunction with the Hillary drop. It was a, "Thanks Wikileaks, whoever you are, you exposed crooked Hillary", kind of thing.
For example, when my kids were young and wanted cell phones I bought them Huawei phones because they were cheap. I liked Huawei because they offered a cheap version of a product that the kids were going to lose or fuck up, but I didn't know anything about the company Huawei.
Not saying it's 1000% the case IRL (POTUS not that naive), just that it could be an explanation that could be accurate to a degree and one that a normie could understand and consider a possibility.
